If you are wanting to broaden your Turbo Grafx-16 library then definitely go ahead and start watching the Turbo Duo on eBay. It runs about $250+ for the console (it was $299.99 new). This will give you access to the widest variety of TG-16 games (Hu-Card, CD-ROM, and Super CD - Arcade Card will require an adapter and an import of the device).

As far as Hu-Card based games, you should get Splatterhouse (arcade port and censored a bit), Bloody Wolf (kind of an overhead Contra - more in line with SNK arcade titles like Guerilla War though), and the Neutopia set (I and II) if you are a fan of Legend of Zelda style games.

There is a Street Fighter II Hu-Card release in Japan too.

Thanks for the great tips! Knowing where to start is always the toughest part of starting a collection for a console so I appreciate the recommendations. :)

I've been debating if I want to spring for the TurboGrafx + Turbo CD combo or to just get a Turbo Duo. I know the Turbo Duo is much more flexible but there is something about Voltroning these retro consoles together a la the Genesis + Sega CD + 32x. But then again trying to get the CD attachment and Super CD/Arcade cards would ramp up the price to around the Duo anyways.

What initially drew me to finding more out about the TG-16 was it's wide berth of shoot em' ups, which I'm a huge fan of.
