PUBG is a BatteRoyale game in which the only remaining player or team wins the game. The two maps are 8x8Km and start with 100 players who drop in with only the clothes on their back. More maps will be released including a 4x4Km one.

I first played PUBG when it was still in early access and I was absolutely thrilled to play a game where the length of your weapon counts and suppressors don’t lower your damage. Mechanics such as bullet drop, bullet penetration, and leaning (peeking) are also present, but the damage model is a bit simplistic. With time the game got a much better netcode and it’s a lot more optimized, but it’s still not very good. I love that they added the option of double tapping lean (peek) to make it toggled. Another thing that I really liked, is that there is another fire stance besides the classic hip fire and ADS, where you just hip fire more accurately while trading away speed. But even now you are being forced out of ADS when you get too close to objects like walls, door frames, etc.; I think, at the very least, there should be an option to just prevent movement instead of forcing you out of aiming when there is no room to move. The way maps are deigned works well for PvP, but it’s very nonsensical and look unfinished. Vehicle physics is still wacky. Gameplay wise it’s not that exciting, except maybe if you get in the last 10, or 3. A lot of matches will be you running around for 15 minutes, ending when a player gets the drop on you or after a short firefight. Time to kill is very low but it can be increased a bit with armor.

Rating: Chicken, chicken, this game’s not the winner.
