God of War 4 The legacy of Kratos // Cover by @Sawcraz.art
It's been several years since Kratos massacred the ancient Olympic Gods. Having overcome the final fight against the father of all Zeus, Kratos now lives with his son Atreus in the world of the Nordic Gods (Tremble Odin), a hostile land inhabited by ferocious monsters and beasts in addition to bloodthirsty warriors. Kratos must teach and protect his son, and he will have to master the anger he had for many years and attend to some pending issues.
A completely more mature delivery that leaves behind the hack 'n slash of the previous versions focused on following the linear idea of the story, in this version we have an older Kratos, calmer and more focused on his actions, without losing the strong and ferocious warrior he is.
The main weapons with which Kratos counts during his new adventure consist of an ax called "Leviathan" and a shield. The Leviathan has the singularity that it can be launched to freeze some enemies and then it will return to its hand (Apparently it is a Nordic ability to tie things and get them back in your hand). While the shield is used both to avoid being hit and to cause damage to enemies.
On the other hand, the jump ability is not available in the new delivery. Another aspect of the gameplay is the ability of Atreus to level up and learn new skills to help his father, although this character is not playable which brings me a slight remembrance of Ellie from "The last of us", the most Surely we will see the way in which the son of the God of war grows and matures to the point where he becomes capable of protecting his father time to time.
Atreus will work as an extension of Kratos' abilities, and will attack enemies when he gives him the command. In addition, he can launch a hail of arrows when he is not directly in combat, capable of dizzy opponents. Another of the most important changes is the camera, which goes from being panoramic to be located behind the back of Kratos.
During the story Kratos will teach his son to be a warrior and try not to make the same mistakes as him, a great piece of gamer art and of the history of this Spartan who has brought us a childhood full of stories of the ancient Greece.
