Cryptokittes, the first virtual game on the blockchain, has a new competitor and it looks great! The blockbuster success of the world's first cryptocurrency based game, Cryptokitties, has spawned a generation of new games which improve upon the original formula. One of these is MonsterBit.

MonsterBit, from creator Grachya Pogosyan, incorporates the best parts of Cryptokitties and adds a few twists of its own which improve the game immensely.

Players begin the game by purchasing MSTR tokens, using the cryptocurrency Etherium. The MSTR tokens can then be used to purchase their first Monster Egg Gen 0. With time and care the egg hatches into a small monster which the players then need to feed with food from the Food Market in order for it to grow. and flourish.

Food from the food market may be purchased with MSTR tokens. For those on a budget, watching in-game advertisements will also reward the player with MSTR tokens that may be used to purchase food. Once the player's monster grows up it can then be used for breeding new monsters or it can be sold off for a profit which can then be used to purchase more monster eggs. Feeding the monster will help it to grow faster and recover faster after breeding or fighting.

Besides breeding, monsters can also be used for fighting against other monsters in the playground area. Monsters in the playground battle are will be able to equip Blasters, the in-game weapon. Blasters may be purchased with tokens or won in battle. New monsters may also be won in the battle playground randomly after a successful battle.

A whopping 10,000 unique monsters will be included in the game, each with its own DNA. The monster's DNA is what creates its unique characteristics such as shape, color, facial expression, size, and gradient. Breeding different monsters together mixes the DNA of the two monsters to create more new and exciting versions of monsters.

System Monsters

Casual gameplay aside, MonsterBit has incorporated many options for people wishing to invest in the game as well. System Monsters are this games version of nodes and may be purchased with MSTR tokens.

System Monsters do not need to be grown and do not breed. Instead, they generate all the Monster Eggs Gen 0 that is used in the game. System Monster owners are then able to sell the eggs for ETH, (Etherium). System Monsters also generate all the food that is sold in the game and collect ETH when it is sold. In addition to food and eggs, the System Monsters also generate all the weapons used in the game and the refill packs needed to power the blaster weapons. These refill packs are also sold for ETH. System Monsters also collect a commission on sales of monsters in the Monster Store.

Players who do not own System Monsters may choose to monetize their monsters with in-game goods. For instance, your monster may be able to hold a Starbucks coffee or eat a McDonald's hamburger. This is similar to having sports sponsors.

Players may also generate income by breeding, selling monsters, and winning and selling game battle items. A bounty program also exists in which players are able to gain free MSTR tokens by Tweeting, sharing posts on Facebook, creating YouTube videos, using a MonsterBit icon, posting on forums, blogging about the game, reviewing the game, and attracting new players to the game with referral links.
