Video game reviews should be written by critics, not fans

in #gaming6 years ago

Today’s hot take is brought to you by GamerRevolution. Because video game critics have been doing a bang-up job right? Remember that time when a video game critic got so triggered by a pair of virtual breasts in a game called Lost Sphear that they gave the game a reduced score? And that time instead of reviewing the game go on a long rant on how the developer of the game Kingdom Come Deliverance is racist. Or their blatant hatred for Japanese video game developers because they don’t address social or political issues in their video games. And telling us that you don’t need to finish a game to understand it.

And let us not forget them not being able to play video games properly, even though it is their damn job. And then arguing that they don’t need to be to be good at games to be good at their jobs. Video game journalists are basically people who wouldn’t be able to get a job in the mailroom in any major journalistic media outlet. So they got a job as a video game critic which is basically the next best thing for them. And this is demonstrated by just how little they care for the medium with their blatant hatred towards gamers and the culture, with headlines like “Gamers or Over“…
