Orc lives matter!

What the actual fuck did I just read? After reading this I sat for 10 minutes trying to decide if Matthew Gault was being serious or that this was some sort of cleverly written parody article. Honestly considering the garbage video game journalism writes these days, we can safely assume the last one isn’t possible at all. So we can then assume that this is another garbage article written by a hipster who got a job in video game journalism because his gender studies degree did not pan out for him. So this guy is now suffering from some sort of PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) because of Middle Earth: Shadow of War which allowed him to enslave kill and basically abuse the Orcs he fights in the game…

I fucken kid you not this is the level of video game journalism we have reached in 2017. Clearly, Matthew did zero research regarding the Orc race in and outside the Tolkien universe. Orcs are the perversions of the first children of Ilúvatar, the god-creator, in other words, they are twisted versions of elves. In Orc lore they aren’t portrayed as innocent indigenous people and for good reason. They are a marauding horde of monsters corrupted by evil magic, they have no culture. The only culture they know is the spreading of fear and violence. They themselves enslave and eat Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Hobbits. That is if they don’t outright murder them.

Orcs by their design are literally incapable of doing anything positive or good, in the Lord of the Rings books and in part, the movies killing Orcs is not only not morally questionable, but the right thing to do. When Sam the hobbit killed his first Orc in Moria, there was no moral pondering or sleepless nights. Aragorn even congratulated him on his first kill stating that people have paid a far more hefty price for killing their first ever Orc. Which meant either being killed or maimed. Tolkien himself even states that everything the Orc’s touch is twisted and corrupted with the purpose of maiming, killing and destroying everything around them.

[Editorial Note:] The poor traumatized Matthew clearly thinks Orc lives matter, when in fact they don’t. Orcs are worth even less than wild beasts that roam the lands that Tolkien created. The reason for this? Because their very existence is part of Melkor’s (Responsible for creating Orcs) and their corruption of Arda (Earth). In the world of Tolkien, they are like a plague that needs to be wiped out. What is next caring for the well being of zombies? Zombie lives matter?
