Steam Summer Sale 2018 | Great titles that are at least 50% off!steemCreated with Sketch.

in #gaming6 years ago

The Steam Summer Sale has been upon us for quite some time and it will still be running till the 5th of July, so I thought to make a handy-dandy list of super-great titles that you should consider picking up!

These are all titles that I have not only played, but have also reviewed - for the most part, and also they’re all titles that are discounted by at least 50%.

There are obviously a crap-tonne other titles that you might want to look into, but I decided to only focus on those that are half-off. In my mind, that is what a serious sale discount should be, at the very least.

So without further ado, let’s begin!

Fallout franchise

Considering the Fallout kick I’ve been on since the announcement of Fallout 76, I’ll obviously start with the Fallout franchise.

You can get each and every title in the franchise, from the first classic to the most recent Fallout 4, at massive discounts.

Fallout 4 Game of the Year Edition - 50%

Shadowrun Complete Collection - 80%

A super-solid turn-based RPG series, set in a dystopian/cyberpunk setting in which magic also exists.

Whilst the first one is considered to be the “weakest” of the bunch, it’s still a very good game, but the sequels do improve on it considerably, especially in terms of characters and story development.

Here’s the playlist of my reviews for ALL the Shadowrun Returns titles:

King of Dragon Pass - 70%

I have been championing King of Dragon Pass since ever. First to my friends and then on the Internet. There’s nothing I can say in a couple of lines to convince you to check it out, instead, here’s my video review where I go into detail about it:

Expeditions: Conquistador - 80% and Expeditions: Viking - 50%

The Expeditions series features two - for now - very solid turn-based tactical RPG titles, each of them with a very unique story and thematic mechanics.

The first one has a Heroes of Might and Magic-esque sort of map exploration - which is quite great, whilst the second one goes in further with the themes of exploration but also base management and interactive narrative choices.

Age of Decadence - 75%

There’s a lot to be said about the awesome and very hardcore nature of Age of Decadence. And I do say a lot about it in my review, so I’ll let that one speak for the game :)

Banished - 66%

Here’s the game responsible for reigniting my long-forgotten passion for city builders :D

FTL - 75%

I do not have a video review for FTL but I did play it and reviewed it in text format, you can find it right here -> https://steemit.com/gaming/@stefanonsense/faster-than-light-review-or-roguelike-sci-fi-space-indie-strategy

Haque - 50%

Haque is a super fun and very retro-looking roguelike RPG. It looks like something from the Spectrum ZX era, but with the computational capabilities of modern processors.

In my gameplay video you get to both see and hear the game, so you can better decide if it’s for you or not:

Immortal Planet - 50%

Immortal Planet is one of the quite-many soulslike video games that we’ve started to see relatively recently, since the sub-genre of soulslike has become a thing.

It is a great introduction to this type of gameplay, with an interesting story and challenging combat.

Here’s my gameplay video to illustrate how the game looks:

Shadows of Adam - 50%

Finishing off my list with a JRPG-inspired RPG, made with wonderful 16-bit pixelart and fun combat in general.

I hope I turned you onto some titles that you never knew existed, because all of these titles are worthy of your money and time!

Haque looks cool thanks for the heads up on the sales.

It's a great game if you're into the genre and aesthetic :)

It's funny how I haven't played any of the games in this list, I know I wanted to get FTL before, but I'll pass getting it on this sale... Two others that interest me here are "King of Dragon Pass" & "Haque."

King of Dragon Pass should be your first one. Haque will still be around, but you need to get into that sweet KoDP action :D There's a spiritual successor coming out soon as well :)
