Minecraft Mondays - Pancake House
Build Size - Small
Build Difficulty - 6/10
Overall Build Rating - 3/5
This is a really simple build, but that's why I liked it. Nothing overly fancy or decorative, just a nice structure. The signs that you can see on the front there are from DecoCraft2 and I have an inventory full of them for different kinds of shops, and my plan for now is to take builds that could be houses or small shops and turn them into the kind of shops to make a bit of a shopping district around the one side of the big central structure so you can expect a lot of that in future weeks.
In the meantime back to this build. I really liked the simplicity of it and as someone who has built quite a bit I found the tutorial fairly easy to follow but if you're a new builder probably not so much. This tutorial tends to build just enough to show, then cut to a finished version, then repeat process. Especially with the places the 'roof' cuts in to make the next level smaller, and it took me some figuring to get how he did that.
The only real internal part of the tutorial is the stairs, and the rest is left up to the imagination. So I turned the first floor into the shop, the second into the bedroom, and the third into a combo kitchen/bathroom (hygienic, I know!)
Shop section complete with wood (vanilla, all the Biomes O Plenty woods, and the two kinds that come with Mo' Creatures) and a little desk for a shopkeep to sit at and people to check out at.
Typical bedroom stuff.
Kitchen/bathroom combo.
So yeah, I turned this little pancake house into a lumber shop. Nothing too fancy, just a place to buy all your wood needs including saplings in the back there. Or sell your lumber related things, if you're looking for some quick cash :)
The following mods made this build possible: BiblioCraft, Biomes O Plenty, DecoCraft2, Earthworks, Journey Map, Lonely Biome, Minecraft Comes Alive, Mo' Creatures, Mo' Glowstone, MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod, Pam's Harvest Craft, Plants, and Vanilla Builders Extension.
Banner was made by me in photoshop. Minecraft belongs to Mojang, the build belongs to DJ Dr Sean on Youtube, and all mods belong to their respective owners. I only own the screenshots used in this post. Any questions or comments regarding the build, my personal touches, or anything else are welcome!
