Thanks for the great review of this game. A lot of great Indie games quite too often pass me by and I had not heard anything about this game until now.
I'm very much into the style the developer chose, that Play Dead studio's Limbo/Inside feel to the game has a nice creative touch.It's also interesting to see how an artist chooses to depict someone going through hell with emotional attachments, whether its Dante's Inferno, DMC, Shadows of the Damned, etc. (All great games) I still don't know what I would call this from what I've seen so far.. Dante's Limbo? lol
Pinstripe is short and sweet, a story-driven game with some strong emotions to drive you along. Your nemesis will make some regular and remarkable appearances and while you can often choose your replies, it’s a simple matter of highlighting your good side or a quite frankly obnoxious behavior."
This part caught my attention. I seem to seek out features in games like this where they may or may not ultimately change the ending ranging from the TellTale games to the Fable games. It helps develope the involvement you have with your character.
From your post and the video attached, regardless of the length of the game, I definitely will be picking up this game for my Xbox, and I look forward to future reviews, thanks!
Maybe we should call it Dante's A Nightmare Before Christmas :D Has a nice ring to it too.
The conversations in this game really don't seem to affect much, but they seem to point you towards the "good" or the "bad" ending (I think that's what makes the difference). The bad ending is slightly different, but there's a huge thing happening that I don't want to spoil for you. It's definitely not Telltale though, it's a much simpler system.
If you like Playdead then you should enjoy this one. It's more low-profile, but especially amazing considering that one man made most of the game.
