Lineage II: the Revolution is an open world game with a map that is quite large. Place mobs spawn will not be in one small area, but rather spread with is quite extensive. Dalam satu peta, tentu saja akan ada beberapa jenis massa, dan ada juga mini bos di beberapa daerah. Juga, ada lapangan bos di peta. Pengembang juga ingin memberikan pengalaman gulir sehingga karakter anda bisa lebih cepat untuk melakukan level up.Penciptaan karakter ini cukup sederhana, anda bisa memilih 4 ras yaitu Human, Elf, Dark Elf, dan Kurcaci.
