FM2016 The Hopton United Story Part 4

So this season we start a new challenge in a much tougher league after winning the title and gaining promotion last season. The players we had last season have to make a massive step up but im sure they can do it. New additions are needed but the main bulk of the team will remain the same as we look to also increase the financial status at the club.

A cup run this season would also be something for the fans to celebrate as this has been low priority so far with the club pushing to climb the league tables.

The first cup we entered was the FA cup in the Extra Prelim rounds. A tough game but we scrapped through and moved into the prelim rounds. Unfortunately this is where the FA cup dream ends this year losing out 1-0 to Brantham.

The FA Vase was the second trophy entered this year and we made it through to round 3 and finally lost out to a strong Daventry team.

The final cup entered is the Eastern Counties League Cup and this is where the dream cup run begins as we move through the rounds for fun and finally end up in the Cup final where we are up against felixstowe. the game starts very evenly until we break the deadlock then the game is settled with a second goal. The first cup silverware is coming to Hopton United.

Our league form this season was exactly as we could of wanted and that was a steady mid table finish and establishing ourselves in this higher division.
