The Top 10 Most Expensive Nintendo 64 Games
The Nintendo 64 is a quirky console with a strong fan base. As a 20-year-old machine, kids who grew up with this console are now entering adulthood and acquiring some disposable income with which to start buying the games they used to have or never had a chance to play as children.
It appears that prices for this system have peaked and shouldn't rise noticeably higher, so while it might not be the best time to buy, it may however be a good time to sell if you have any of these laying around that you don't have interest in.
Here are the top 10 most expensive Nintendo 64 games. Note: prices are for loose carts only; color variants, promo carts and not-for-resale versions are not included.
#10 Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber
$42.00
A well-reviewed, but poor selling strategy RPG. Its the only game like it on the console.
#9 Goemon's Great Adventure
$43.00
The more expensive of the 2 Goemon games on the system. The other, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, is also a bit pricey at just under $35.
#8 Castlevania Legacy of Darkness
$43.95
An updated and improved version of Castlevania 64, Legacy of Darkness is the much rarer of the two.
#7 Starcraft 64
$45.00
Console ports of Blizzard PC games tend to hold their value well. Starcraft 64 is no exception.
#6 Conker’s Bad Fur Day
$64.74
The most notorious game on the console due to its crude humor. Its starting to come down from prices that were closer to $80 in recent years.
#5 Stunt Racer
$79.50
A Blockbuster exclusive title, Stunt Racer's limited distribution made it a much more rare title.
#4 Bomberman 64 The Second Attack
$101.00
Several Bomberman games were released on the N64, but The Second Attack sells for about 10 times as much as the others due to its rarity.
#3 Super Bowling
$120.50
A simple bowling game cracks the top 5. I'm not sure what drives the value of this game, other than its likely pretty scarce.
#2 Worms Armageddon
$140.50
While available on other platforms, the N64 version of this entry in the Worms franchise takes 2nd place.
#1 Clayfighter Sculptor’s Cut
$352.50
Another Blockbuster exclusive, this is an updated version of Clayfighter 64 with some additional content. Boxes and manuals for this game are extremely rare and the last complete version to sell on eBay went for $2,800!
Honorable mentions
While this list features only 1 Nintendo published title (Conker), just outside the top 10 are many Nintendo titles in the $25-$35 price range, like the two Zelda titles, Mario Party 1,2 and 3, Paper Mario, Mario Kart 64 and Super Smash Bros. These games all sold very well, but rarely leave the hands of Nintendo fans and game collectors so the prices remain high for these popular titles.
Yeah proud to still having a console with my favorite Mario Kart 64 ;)
One of the problems with the Nintendo 64 is that many games haven't aged that well. However Mario Kart 64 is still a blast to play and has held up pretty well for a 20 year old game.
Goldeneye, on the other hand is a chore to even control once twin stick controls became the norm for FPS games.
Got Goldeneye as well :D
Still working great
Interesting stuff. Loving your work, @retro-room
