Playing the legendary Nintendo PlayStation
A few months back while I was at MagFest in Maryland a friend of mine called me up to invite me to his hotel room for a private gaming experience I never thought I'd ever have.
I got to play the incredibly rare Nintendo PlayStation.
The system runs much like a regular Super Famicom (SNES) but also included a CD drive from Sony for future games on optical discs. There is a really interesting history behind the whole thing, but I was there just to play it. We played Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Kirby's Dream Course off original Super Famicom carts while the CD drive was still at the time unusable and lacked any software.
Everything about it feels just like an SNES, games run just the same without any visual differences from what I could see. I've heard that they've got the disc drive to read but there are no known beta/alpha games for the console. Maybe at some point in the future some of the disc games might be found and preserved for the sake of gaming history! :)
Wow, I've never seen that thing
If you ever find any game for this, be sure to show us!
SO GOOD. I have all these 80s/90s consoles tucked away in my basement somewhere. Thank you for the trip down memory lane...
Wow, really cool, forgot this was a thing.
I have an interview with the owner of this bad boy (him and his son though his son was not all that talkative). Great guys. I need to finish editing the interview and release it (it is over 20,000 words for questions/answers).
Wrote a bit about the second homebrew release for this prototype for those interested.

Very cool I'll check it out!
