Hello everyone, how are you today? Well as for me all is okay and would remain okay lol.

So, some time back I gave a tutorial about the psp emulator, and how it was use to emulate psp games, also the links in which one can get the psp games where provided as well, but today let’s do something a little different.

If you read that post, you will find out that the psp games are in .iso format and their file size are kind of a little bit large, so if you the type that’s space cautious just like me, then you will find this a lit bit helpful.

So like we once said,
PSP EMULATOR just like your normal, physical psp consoles you play with a lot, which comes with a lot of games cd and a cd ram that reads this games, sometimes we often go as far as to hack it, in other to play games via our memory card, but this is not a hack tutorial but rather a how to convert tutorial.

So psp emulator performs the same function as the psp himself but now, it’s an emulator which is a software which means you can’t see it. Emulators as we always say are programs that help us to run another software in an unsupported device e.g. Bluestack emulator, with this you are able to run android applications via your pc.

So with the psp emulator you will be able to run psp games and other supported psp files. To better understand this, I made a tutorial on it CLICK ME.

The downside about the psp emulator is the games, the .iso games are usually large in size and with this, much space is been collected and it becomes rather a nuisance to our pc. So today I will be giving a tutorial on how to compress this file into .cso and the same time, it comes out with the same quality, that’s no glitches or lag.

So just read and if any misunderstanding please feel free to ask me any question as related to this procedure and I will get to reply you, as soonest as possible.

Today we will be making use of a program or software called ISO compressor.

ISO compressor
Just like the name refers to, it helps to compress files to a lower size, sometimes to a much lower size than the default, other times not so much. With this, you can compress .iso file to .cso and also .wbfs for Nintendo to .cso.
It’s a two way process, in the sense that, it can compress to .cso and it can also decompress to .iso.

Reason for compressing
Let’s say you would like to copy some psp .iso files to your mobile phone, as mobile phone still supports this emulator, would be discussed some other time and you found out that your memory storage is becoming filled up, and there is limited number of games you can copy into your phone, well not so good I will say, cause as a gamer you need more than one games to keep you busy but because of the limit in storage, you are deprived of copying more.

So with this compressor you will be able to compress this .iso file into a much smaller size and you get to copy more games into your phone rather than the few you initially wanted to copy. Well I would say it’s worth it a lot.

Like we said earlier, you visit emuparadise to download your required roms and then you need to download this compressor software as well, which can be gotten from CLICK ME

PROCEDURE/STEPS
So after downloading the compressor software, you extract it to any further if it is zipped, but if not just double click on it and install it, following all commands shown to you while installing and it won’t take 2mins to completely install.
So after installing, you open the software and you get a view like the below.

There are some options provided to you, which you need to access

First is the PSP ISO FILE (*.iso for sony playstation) under it, is a box and at the right hand side you see BROWSE, what is required of you is to locate the psp .iso files in your pc and place it there.

Like I earlier said, you probably must have downloaded the psp games already, that’s in the .iso format and extracted them to a folder of your choice.

So, click on the browse and you will be prompt to locate the folder where the .iso files are currently available, so for me, I dropped them on my desktop, folder name Rom, sub folder name PSP. So I will have to go to my desktop via the browse, into the ROM folder and a sub folder called PSP to locate it, but on your own, it all depends on where you stored the .iso files, locate them and select them to the software just like the picture below.

So upon selecting the psp .iso file, you get a screenshot like the below and you can see the output folder from the picture, remember the output folder because after compressing, the compress game can be found within this folder. Also upon compressing, the new file does not overwrite your pre-existing psp .iso file, it just create a new file on its own. After taking note of the folder, just go ahead and click on compress and wait for some minutes for compressing to be done, it might take a little time, depending on the size of the psp .iso file.

So, after completion it gives you a pop up notification about the progress been completed, just like the one below and you just have to press okay to close it.

So the image below shows the two files, one is the default psp .iso file and the other, is the compressed psp .cso file, looking at both you can attest that the .cso psp file size is smaller than the psp .iso file, like I said earlier,

sometimes the size is compressed to a much lower size, other times not so much.

So when we open both files from our PSP emulator they both play fine and no difference is seen between the two files.
At the end I would say it’s better to compress your file into a lower size, so as to have space for more psp games and there is still the option to re-convert back to psp .iso.

In which, the reverse process will be discussed some other time, just stay tune.
