Horizon zero dawn Review

Hi guys and everyone out there, it’s already Friday and just a day away from the weekend to begin once more, that’s nonstop party with friends or gaming with colleagues/family whatever be the case, all we know it’s the weekend and means less work for us.

Taking a piece from the hunt I did a while back is horizon zero dawn, although its available on PS4 but from what I can tell about it so far is, it’s somewhat similar to far cry primal, if you followed me before now, then chances are you seen the review and gameplay I once did on far cry primal and every time I look at the game horizon zero dawn, it tends to remind me of far cry primal.

Don’t know if it’s somewhat related to the era the game was built in, that’s a pre-historic era, yea I know bots are used in horizon zero dawn, but the bots been used are somewhat familiar or even same as pre-historic creatures, if you watched transformers, there is this scene were Optimus prime fought some pre-historic autobot who had been on Earth for millions of years and we might consider them futuristic but same time old. The creatures, they were able to transform or mimic appearance of pre-historic creatures that had gone into extinction millions of years back, that’s what horizon zero dawn appears to be.

Taking a closer look at far cry primal, the story centers on a primitive man on an adventure to locate the lost city and alongside making friends as the game progresses, the game is an open world adventure and the equipment used are mostly stealth ones, which included spears, clubs, fires and many others, but what the equipment all had in common was stealth, you could deal and deliver damages to different creatures in a stealth like manner.

The game horizon zero dawn is somewhat similar as it centers on a hunter as well, just like far cry primal, the hunter sets out into an open world to locate and search for her past history, just like far cry primal were the character looked for the lost city with the hope of saving his race, horizon zero dawn centers on the character locating her past to understand more about the happenings she now sees in the present and best way to tackle the future after all,

The past is what determines the future.

The equipment and tools been used in horizon zero dawn are stealth like and allow the user to take down monster creatures using tactics and stealth like movement, weapons available to her are mostly bows and spears but not your regular bow and arrow, the bows been used here able to deliver a lot of damage to take down a mecha-robotic pre-historic creature lol.

Unlike most open world adventure games that usually prefer using brute force to bring down enemy, horizon zero dawn prefers more of strategy and allow players be able to understand and plan the best course to take when fighting a humongous creature, going straight ahead would leave you defeated and probably killed.

The need to know the weak points of creatures and which elements work best with them is usually helpful and needed, attacking straight on with any and every arsenal present to you, will leave you stranded unable to kill or spend more time killing a creature that shouldn’t take much time to defeat.

Users will be able to bring down robo-creatures gradually with the help of various equip present to use and one of the best feature I think about the game is the ability to ride this robotic creatures. On their normal state they are somewhat free and explore various part of the map but there are some creatures capable of corrupting their data and make them act in an unnatural way, which makes them more prone to violence. Along the course of traveling, you will be needed to disarm the corrupt data from this creature and doing so might be somewhat risky and fun, and yes the ability to tame or control this creatures is available, making you able to mount on them and ride them just like you would on a horse.

Increasing your transportation and movement speed from one place to another, something far cry primal don’t have.

Also, as the game progresses, users have the ability to upgrade their weapons dealing more damage, this upgrades can be gotten from loot and devices that falls down after dealing or defeating an enemy, each comes with its own loot and you have the ability to analyze which loot is likely to fall after defeating a particular bot.

With that and your ability to identify the weak point of the creatures makes it all the more fun and easy to defeat them, although most times you require better tactics and speed to defeat this enemies.

The game is currently available on PS4 and I wished it was available on PC as well, with the features been that similar and also different from far cry it should have been a good game addition to my already installed games and also will be nice to have a third person adventure game, most games I currently have are either sports like, first person shooter and battle royales.
