What happens when a game goes against or accommodate certain views that are considered inappropriate to the said country?

Hi guys and welcome to another beautiful Thursday, been down since yesterday, one of the defect of having a shitty network provider or ISP, you end up spending more than you would on a normal day and the worst part, the services not so great and allocated data not good at all, well that’s my country for you but then still better than most as it relates to gaming and other online entertainment activities, kind of free and no many laws to govern such situations. Or none am aware of yet.

Well, a rumor that has been flowing online for the past few hours is that certain games were banned in a country, called rumors cause no such games have come front to claim the news be it legit or not

From the rumor, it seems the games were subjected to a gaming community to checkmate their services as to what they offer and if it went against the laws governing the country, be it displaying of body parts that are considered inappropriate for viewing to the public, uncensored chat room and many others.

Hi guys, you probably read it online, magazines or watch podcast as to gaming and the public.

Most times, the argument is that what games showcase or provide to the public is somewhat inappropriate, one of the reasons that make users go against esports entertainment and gaming yet to be recognized as a type of sports entertainment.

Saying they provide scenes that make one prone to violence or probably train and educate users in ways that are not considered appropriate to the public.

Video gaming, unlike movies or music, tends to have an effect on users, be it positive or negative, the action and most scene been displayed end up enlighten user about activities that cannot be shown in real life. Hence, gaming is like a medium to provide them and also probably reactions to each action users choose to take, just like a life simulator in a virtual world

Most even go as far as to talk about histories that once happened, and most time they are considered accurate, other times not so much as it goes against what others think actually happened prior to that point and time in history, hence making them invalid, but then, you can only truly talk about history with all certainty when you actually participated in it, not from the mouth of another user.

A lecturer was did something in my class, he said that if a message was passed from an individual to another, before getting to the 20th or even the 10th person, the information starts to deviate from what was actually spoken, meaning majority of the things we hear from others are usually 50 to 60% true and others, probably information to make the story or news somewhat legit.

That been said,

Woke up earlier today and the news that welcomed me was China banning some games, due to them not been up to standard within certain guidelines that were provided.

Seems a community to checkmate what popular games offered to the public was set and after reviewing these games, they were found to deliver one or more of scenes that were not permitted there.

Banning a game for not been up to standard wouldn’t be the first, but what happens when such games are rather popular and even been played in esports.

If you familiar with esports entertainment, you would understand that majority of players come from such regions and if such games were actually banned what would be the implications on esports as we know it.

Just like cryptocurrency that is been considered a form of Ponzi, fake and many other names been attached to it by selected few individuals, same can be said to esports entertainment.

People are usually afraid of things they are unable to comprehend, understand and then they turn to deny the existence of such things.

This can be said to both activity, cryptocurrency and esports, but seek to bring something revolutionary to the world as we know it, but then certain or few individuals, been unable to understand them, turn a blind eye and what they rather choose was for these activities to rather not existed.

The rumors say, some popular online multiplayer game was banned in China earlier today and such games involved,

  • League of legends,

  • Player unknown battleground,

  • Paladins,

  • Fortnite and among others.

It is claimed to be a rumor, cause none of these games as claimed or deny any of such activity, well I wonder if such rumored would be published immediately if it was true or not.

But what I do know is that for every news there is usually a portion of truth behind it, it might not be exactly as the rumor was shown or displayed, but most times, from the words written, you are sure 1 to 5% might actually be true.

Hope as the day progresses, a better understanding of what actually happened would be published.

Till some other time, do have fun and stay bless.
