Destiny 2: Lightfall Announcement

I have to admit that it has been months since the last time I logged into Destiny 2 on my console. While it had nothing to really do with the game itself, I have heard from friends that continue to play that the Seasonal content is not very refreshing these days despite the seemingly interesting lore behind the game itself. My work and separate endeavors has limited me to playing any console games as my time has been very limited and if I play anything, it is something that earns and builds in the long run.

However, this may change soon as I did see the recorded Stream for the announcement of the upcoming expansion called Lightfall. I did not think it would make much of an impression on me but I will say that I immediately preordered the expansion after only seeing half of the Stream. The visuals and gameplay combined with the ongoing story had me excited of once again diving into the Destiny universe again.

While it was not enough to get me playing now in preparation for the expansion, I have started to log in to see what gear I could get from my Season passes which I have access to given my deluxe version purchased previously. This game continues to drag me in and out for extended periods but it is really only when I have time which has not been the case as of late. However, I still enjoy it when I do as it feels that the storytelling is getting better and the ramp up to Lightfall will be intriguing.

The biggest challenge will be getting a team together again before the launch as the amount of friends playing is quite limited. However, I have heard of some good updates to matchmaking with others in search of teams. There is so much content I have missed this year that it may already be late to try to catch up and be ready for this expansion which is expected to be released in February of 2023. Either way, I will likely find a way to have some time off to play the new expansion for some time when released!
