Monster Hunter Weapon #2 : Sword & Shield

Hey guys! just going to jump right in about the next weapon. Sword and Shield.

Sword and Shield is one of the first weapons to the monster hunter series and unlike the Great sword it's fast at everything. This weapon can unleash a fury of quick attacks for you to deal out damage AND agile enough to move and dodge immediately after attacking. You can also use your shield to block the incoming attack of course(since it's a small shield you can only block weak attacks, big attacks will still send you flying).

Unfortunately the damage on the weapon is quite low since the weapon is so fast. But you can combo this with a weapon that can inflict status effects and make this one of the best weapons to paralyze, poison or sleep a monster.

Once a monster is paralyzed you and your team can just beat on it like he owes you money. Likewise if it falls asleep you and your teammates can surround it with explosives and blow it up for a massive bonus damage.

Sword & Shield also has a huge variety of elemental weapons to pick from besides status weapons so there is a great potential to dealing elemental damage on top of the normal raw damage from the weapon.

Lastly and my favorite: you can use an item with your weapon out. Yes you heard me right. while you are guarding you can chug that potion. you do NOT need to put your weapon away to use items. Awesome huh?
