This is a time of the year where not too many big titles are coming out, luckily Vermintide 2 is out and it will keep you busy for a while. From time to time a game is released that captures you until you completely drain it out of your system after 50h of game time. Vermintide 2 is one of those multiplayer CO-OP games where you keep on playing until you drop dead from exhaustion, but with a smile on your face.

The core of the game is a four man party with different classes, five classes each with three career paths to be exact. Your objective as a team is to reach the end of the map alive and with as much collectable tomes and grimoires as possible. Those tomes provide better experience and loot, but they also come with a cost, when you carry a tome you can't carry a health potion, with grimoires your team's health pool drops by 30%, imagine carrying two grimoires and fighting against hordes of bloodthirsty monsters. Yeah, the game tends to go hardcore if you choose it so because of that extra loot and experience. You will know the meaning of exhaustion when you fight 4 bosses on the same map, those hulking beasts will make your party wish you never picked up those grimoires.

The game's AI will throw waves and waves of Skaven and Nurgle Chaos Warriors at you, you and your party need to survive the onslaught which is easier said than done. There are many enemy types, hordes that will overwhelm you with big numbers, specialists that will pick your party one by one, boss monsters capable of wrecking your entire team if not prepared. To truly master the game you will have to learn how to balance between finite resources like ammo, special potions, special abilities and healing potions. You will go through all that for that sweet loot after winning. There are 5 rarity types of equipment and as you slowly progress to end game loot, your character will become a true killing machine. Every one of 5 classes will offer different play style, I tested them all and I went with Bounty Hunter, he is a true boss killer and anti armor character with cool looking helm.

Only one minor detail keeps me from playing the game more, after exploring every one of 13 unique maps the game tends to go into a grind mode, meaning you will play those maps forever and every upgrade later on isn't as noticeable as when you started the game. Still the game is worth it and for a price of 30$ it will provide you many hours of fun. Score: 89/100

I actually added you to the list of people tagged.

You have to do this now, too.

I suffered through it, so you need to, as well.

You can also make it five games you like, five games you dislike.

If you say so, I'll do it, but only because it was you, I must trust in the last beacon of hope for the everlasting success of the western civilization.
