Thief Franchise

Thief is a long running series of games revolving around thief named Garret. He will sneak around and steal people property in a low fantasy steampunk setting. One thing in common for every Thief game is a great atmosphere and hidden story that get players hooked for days, you start by stealing stuff and bit by bit get immersed by Garrets world full of wonders and lore. All four Thief games were great atmospheric experiences.

Thief: The Dark Project

First game was one of a kind, one of the first sneak games where main gameplay element was to sneak around and get the guards one by one, you had to watch for sounds you are making, and Garret would use his specialized tools for more efficient sneaking. There were some supernatural elements that kept story interesting.

Thief 2: The Metal Age

The sequel from year 2000 was very similar with the first game with not too many graphic improvements, Garret got some new tools for his thievery and story continued from the first game but this one was more focused on stealing from rich citizens and was not to heavy on action like the first game.

Thief: Deadly Shadows

I remember playing one level of this game and got spooked like never before, Thief games have that subtle horror game elements that can surprise you at time when playing in very dark levels or haunted hospitals. This one also had always welcome sandbox elements where Garret could explore the city at will. 

Thief

Thief from 2014 gave the players more modern look to our hero Garret with advanced graphics and more of everything every thief person would ever need. This game is high on my to do list to continue playing.
