The Best Western Games

Gaming world went and explored almost any theme you can imagine, western theme is one those themes that can be very interesting from gaming standpoint. Today I will talk about some of the best Wild Wild West games that I came across. Cowboy games can be played from FPS, RPG or RTS perspective. Make a compelling story and give the project into the hands of capable developers and you can have an epic game in your hands. Here are some of the best cowboy games. 

Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive

This game is heavily inspired by Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines game with the same gameplay mechanics and art syle transferred from World War 2 to Western setting. This kind of games are methodical in their gameplay approach with slow and calculated moves with various team members with different specialities like explosives, sharpshooting or stealth. Enemies will circle the map and you need to use stealth mechanics or you won't get very far. Story of Desperados is your typical western story where you need to catch the infamous El Diablo with your team of specialists. Fun tactical combat and beautiful locales made this game very fun to play.

Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption is a famous western game from Rockstar Games Studios and I'm sure many of you know about and have played it. Rockstar Games are known for their very detailed sandbox worlds filled with great content. When playing RDR you have a feeling that you are inside that dessert riding on your horse and exploring the vistas. This would not be a great game without great gun action and this is where this game shines. Story of this game will remind you of any great movie western story with our protagonist former gang member John Marston was given a chance to return to his family if he brings members of his old gang to justice, it is a story worth your time and then some. 

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

Call of Juarez is a great western series with four games released, the best one in this game series is Bound in Blood. Game was released in 2009 and unlike Desperados and Red Dead Redemption this game is full on first person shooter. Shooting mechanic is done great and story about Two brothers Ray and Thomas McCall at the end of American Civil War will keep you hooked until the end. Very nice graphics at the time still looks great, so you can take a swing at this game with older PC's if you missed it.
