The Best Star Trek Games

in #gaming8 years ago

Boldly go where no man has gone before, from your computer.. Star Trek captured imagination of many people, young and old. There is something great about that positive outlook for future of human kind and games can capture that spirit quite nicely. Indeed violence is included when you play these games, but that is just a default state of any game today, violence. There is an abundance of Star Trek games over the years and here are some of the best ones that I happen to come across.

Star Trek Armada 2

Very much improved sequel RTS game in Star Trek universe, Armada 2 had more races to choose from and more ship diversity, and of course it had improved graphics. You could pick between Federation, Romulan, Borg and Klingons and new races Kardassians and Species 8472 fighting for dominance. Use super weapons like 8 Borg cubes fused in one giant cube and assimilate all.

Star Trek Online

Decent Free to Play MMO in Start Trek universe, what's not to like if you are a fan. You can side with the Federation, the Klingon Empire or Romulan Republic, start walking on the planets and end up owning you own space ship. Constantly improved and updated this MMO can be very fun and fresh.

Elite Force 2

First Elite Force game was themed around Captain Janeway and her crew travels in Delta Quadrant, sequel was based on good old Picard and his crew in alpha quadrant. Your mission is to exterminate violent exomorphs and in doing so you will meet many standard Star Trek races with their own agenda. Great first person shooter.

Klingon Academy

This was a star ship combat simulator where you would control your special class of ship and maneuver it tactically against more opponents and try to survive. Hardcore gameplay for true strategic minds, you have to worry about shields, placement, weak spots, overheating, ammo. All that made the game very interesting and if you like Klingons look no further.

Bridge Commander

Similar as Klingon Academy this is also a tactical space combat simulator. In this one you play as new Starfleet captain and you can control you ship from bridge view or tactical view. You can also meet many popular Star Trek people like Picard or Data so what's not to like. Live long and prosper.

I happen to own Star Trek: Elite Force 1 and Star Trek Deep Space Nine: The Fallen; best Star Trek games I've ever played and even by today's standards, the graphics and gameplay still hold up. Great Post!!
