The Best Fantasy Games pt.8

in #gaming7 years ago

There is no game like Fantasy game, when you want to explore mystical new worlds and see magical creatures in action, casting spells at foes and finding that great artifact ring that gives you +10 to all, fantasy game is a place for you my fellow steemit gamer. At the beginning of the genre there were just blocks of pixels moving around and most of the things were left for our imagination, but today we can see many vibrant and alive worlds due to GPU's that can power up a city. This list has the potential to be huge considering how many fantasy games are out there so this list will be a series. Check my blogs to see previous episodes. Here are another 5 great fantasy games.

Giants Citizen Kabuto

One of the strangest games ever created is this fantasy game where you could play as three completely different characters. Sea reaper that can cast spells, Meccaryns with jet packs and last but not the least a Giant that can destroy anything. Game also had crude strategy mechanics with resource gathering to improve your creatures. Great graphics at the time, humor and great gameplay made this game one to remember.

Black and White 2

City building game with a twist, you also have a creature that can grow to a giant proportions and act depending on your choices in the game, you can be a good ruler and creature would be a gentle giant, or you could be a complete prick and your creature would be a prick too.  One of those rare games that tried to innovate and mostly did it right.

Age of Mythology

Age of Empires with Egyptian, Norse and Greek gods. You could summon any mythological beast from those mythos and some of the heroes who could do more dmg to the beasts. Nice change of pace from classic civilizations of Age of Empires. Oh yes, you could cast god spells and completely ruin your opponents cities and smile while doing it.

Kult: Heretic Kingdoms

Action RPG with different mechanics than your standard ARPG games. You could fight in real world and in parallel reality called Dream World that would have different monsters and some environmental puzzles that you would have to complete to continue in physical realty. Check it if you missed it, you will be surprised how good this game is.

Eador Masters of the Broken World

Overlooked by many this was a great Turn Based Strategy game that clearly had it's influence in Heroes of Might and Magic games, but this game expanded the formula and added more layers to the game with multiple flying continents and more complex city building scenarios. If you missed it I would strongly suggest to try out this deep and complex game.
