The Best Fantasy Games pt.2

in #gaming8 years ago

There is no game like Fantasy game, when you want to explore mystical new worlds and see magical creatures in action, flinging spells at foes and finding that great artifact bow that gives you +10 to dexterity, fantasy game is a place for you my fellow steemit gamer. At the beginning of the genre there were just blocks of pixels moving around and most of the things were left for our imagination, but today we can see many vibrant and alive worlds due to GPU's that can power up a city. This list has the potential to be huge considering how many fantasy games are out there so I will make this list a series. Here are another 5 great fantasy games.

Morrowind

Elder Scrolls series never disappoints and Morrowind was at the time one of the most ground breaking fantasy games ever. Everything was great about that game, atmosphere, immersion, huge world to explore, music, graphics like you've never seen before. Character development was deep and diverse, new weapons and armors felt great and spells did the right job. Exploring Dwemer ruins and fighting Dunmer or Dark Elves while great evil lurks above you was never this much fun.

Gothic 3

Gothic games always had that great fantasy world to explore with many different monsters and races. Gothic 3 expanded on first few games with bigger world and more things to do in the game, you could be a hunter, great warrior or massive destruction mage. You could craft weapons and armors and brew alchemical potions. One of the largest sandbox games ever and true joy for any gamer who experienced this game.

Diablo 2

Original Diablo created ARPG genre, Diablo 2 took that same formula and expanded it like never before. Everything about Diablo 2 was great, grim fantasy atmosphere, great character development, great evil to fight and so much loot. Loot like you've never seen before. This game is a hoarder's dream.

Baldur's Gate 2

Game based on Dungenons&Dragons fantasy and rule set. Every location was interesting and nicely drawn. Every character in the game had it's backstory and were real fun to have them around. Remember Minsk and his Heroic hamster pet Boo? And game had one of the most iconic villains ever in any game. Combat system was very deep where you needed to pause the combat to give your party orders or you would not get that far.

Neverwinter Nights 2

Sequel of the beloved franchise with cult following was more modern and had more up to date story. Neverwinter series had something special in it's class creation named multi class, or when your basic class, for example Mage can become Palemaster or Druid can become Shapeshifter. The sequel introduced Warlock class that was interesting to play as. Very fantasy rich game.

Sort:

I vote to add Heroes Of Might And Magic 3 to the list. And Fallout: New Vegas, I guess it's technically not fantasy, but that world is pretty immersive.

For sure next episode I will go with Heroes, and yeah New Vegas is more of a postapocalyptic game for another genre.
