Shadowrun Games
Shadowrun is cyberpunk turn based RPG series successfully kickstarted in 2013. Meanwhile two more Shadowrun games were released and hands down those three games are easily my favorite games in last few years. Art style of new Shadowrun games is absolutely great and games can be played on older PC's which is always a great feature to have. Everyone can play them, not just ninja PC owners. Combat is turn based and there are many interesting cyberpunk classes to chose from. I'll talk about recent Shadowrun RPG series, check it out steemers, these games are very fun.
Shadowrun Returns
From the first screenshots I saw from the previews I was hooked for this game. Cyberpunk is strong with this one, but this cyberpunk setting is more unusual then your standard cyberpunk. Here we have fantasy cyberpunk with every fantasy race imaginable, for example you can create a Troll character with heavy guns specialization and soon you will have a Troll with Minigun. There are also many other fantasy races that can now hack or shoot from machine guns. It is a world like no other, very imaginative and atmospheric, filled with interesting characters with their backstories. SF story in this one will get you hooked until you finish the game. This was a glorious return.
Shadowrun: Dragonfall
Not too much after release of Shadowrun Returns, Dragonfall, standalone expansion was released and this game took the same route of greatness. This time something big is cooking in fantasy cyberpunk version of Berlin with awakening of old dragons. These dragons are very powerful and your goal is to find who is behind their awakening and try to stop them. There are some really fun missions in this one, for example in one mission you can control cyber zombie killing machine. Tactical combat is even more interesting in this standalone expansion. You don't need a flashy graphics to make a great game and Dragonfall is a fine example of that.
Shadowrun: Hong Kong
Latest in the series was released not too long ago in 2015. and twas good. This time our created character took a trip to Hong Kong just to find out that his old mentor is found dead. Who is behind that death is a mystery and your job is to find out. Just like in any Shadowrun game slow start will get you to meet brand new world ending evil. Hong Kong had many interesting characters for you to take into combat like Russian Rigger or Zombie Samurai. All three games are worth playing.
I still have to play part III, bought it a bit back at a sale. So many games to play....
btw the Herebrained studios that made the SR games are now sitting on a Mechwarrior tactical game.
Harebrained schemes are a talented bunch. I saw some Battletech early gameplay, game could be interesting.
