Resident Evil Games pt.2

in #gaming7 years ago (edited)

In all my gaming years there was one gaming franchise from Capcom with everlasting dread and aura of uneasiness surrounding it whenever I start playing it. Resident Evil games are not meant for the weak gamers, but even the strongest of us will scream and cry at times. RE games are nothing like the same titled movies with Milla Jovovich, games are on a whole different and higher level. Not every game was great though, some were mediocre, some were great, but none were boring. In part 2 I will talk about modern Resident Evil games starting with.

Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4 was released in 2005 and again the game had massive success with the sales and reviews. Events in this game happened 6 years after Raccoon City incident and again we play as Leon Kennedy, this time he was sent to a strange village where he needs to rescue a president's daughter. The villagers are infected by the new virus strain that made them insane and bloodthirsty. There are even more action sequences in this game than in the last one. Quick time events were introduced and some deaths were as gruesome as ever, anyone who played it will remember that particularly dangerous enemy with a chainsaw.

Resident Evil 5

The fifth Resident Evil game was released in 2009 and this one went the furthest from standard RE formula. That seemed to be a trend with Resident Evil games, games had more action in every new sequel while all the exploration and puzzles were focused less on. This time we play as Chris Redfield who was sent to get to the bottom of bioweapon crysis in the African region of Kijuju. This time the virus has mutated and had become more unstable, and the result is monsters that took more of an alien shape with tentacles and teeth. Very action heavy and adrenaline filled game and with addition of co-op mode you could play this game with your grandma.

Resident Evil 6

Sixth game in the series was released in 2012 and it was one of the most sold Resident Evil games, but clearly game had strayed from the roots. In this game we play as four different characters from previous games, Chriss Redfield, Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong and Jake Muller. Gameplay is mix of action and quick time events and every characters had their own special moves. The team has to fight new virus that is spreading all over the globe, there were some epic boss fights and the monsters were very pleasing for the eye.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

The latest game in the series was released in 2017 and scared the shit out of your cat. In many ways Resident Evil: Biohazard returned to it's roots with heavy horror elements and horror atmosphere. Game is ground breaking from the Virtual Reality standpoint, however, as a Resident Evil game it was very different than the rest and it could hardly be called a Resident Evil game. We play as a new character Ethan Winters that unfortunately stumbled upon derelict house where Baker family lives. This is not your standard family that will offer you food and shelter, these guys will eat you alive.

I'm quite familiar with all the RE series except for the newest one. Tried the demo halfway and I feel it is in a way similar to silent hill? How's the combat system like? If there is any =)

Simple combat with few type of weapons and very generic enemies. Only boss fights are unique and challenging.

Thanks for the review.. any character from the previous series appeared?

Resident Evil 4 is an amazing game and I absolutely love it, but it set the franchise on a different path that many long time fans hated.

Its interesting to see what they've done with 7 to bring the game back to its horror roots. I'll have to play it once it hits a platform I own *fingers crossed for that rumored Switch version ;) *

Like I said there are no boring Resident Evil games. Yeah, fingers crossed ;)

Looks great. It would look better with my 4 GTX1080 graphics cards from mining rig :)

That GPU still is the king of performance. You should play some hardware hungry games on ultra settings and not just mine :)

Yes, you're right.Much better performance they have in gaming than in mining

The 4 and the 3 stay the two best for me. Weirdly i did like the 5 and the 6 too even if they got much hate.

For me the second one was the best. I also liked 5th one.

The second one was quit cool too but i was too kiddo to enjoy it. I remember some very cool cinematics and some moment who were very scary ! The enigma phase was also very hard, i need a solution many times to finish it.

The reason behind the 3being my favourite is pretty simple : Nemesis, this giant monster who follow you everywhere, god he was sooooo a fuck*** pain in the ass.

My son like this game so much :)

Just look at this! Brings back memories! Unto the next one!

I upvoted this and also resteemed!

Everyone keeps talking about RE, I guess it must be awesome game. I always wanted to give it a try but I'm afraid I couldn't fall asleep after playing ::D
