Resident Evil Games pt.1

In all my gaming years there was one gaming franchise with everlasting dread and aura of uneasiness surrounding it whenever you start playing it. Resident Evil games are not meant for the weak gamers, but even the strongest of us will scream and cry at times. Games are nothing like the same titled movies with Milla Jovovich, games are on a whole different and higher level. Not every game was great though, some were mediocre, some were great, however, none were boring. In part 1 I will talk about how this franchise started and how over the years gained wings and landed on the mount Olympus of gaming.

Resident Evil

Back in 1996 when first Resident Evil game was released nobody knew what to expect and where will this game lead us in the future. In the first game we play as Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, a couple of soldiers from Stars team sent to investigate strange happenings around Raccoon City after members of their team mysteriously disappeared, soon they end up in a mansion infested with zombies. How and what is behind it we all know, but at the time this was THE game to explore. Puzzle solving, tense survival, story that keeps you interested until the end. Great start of the franchise and one of the most sold Capcom games with 8.5 millions copies sold.

Resident Evil 2

Second game was released in 1998 following the massive success of the first game. In second game we change main roles and take the role of few new characters, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. This time we play directly in Raccoon City overwhelmed with zombies infected with T-virus that was created by the evil Umbrella Corporation. Combining items, scavenging for ammo was again the main gameplay mechanics. Zombies would jump scare you at any moment, through the windows, floors, from anywhere really. But nothing even comes close when comparing to Lickers, handsome creatures that will tongue you to death and you will die from massive amounts of pleasure. Fun times. 

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Third game of the series was released in 1999 and was named by the game's main villain that is set to hunt us down and eat us, big teeth motherfucker with rocket launcher. This was the most action orientated game in the series where we again play as Jill Valentine from the first game and again we return to zombie infested Raccoon City. Nemesis is a mutated creature specifically programmed to kill every surviving member of Stars team and we will encounter him many times through out the game, those encounters were extremely tense and scary. This game was considered to be the last of the Raccoon City story and every game that came out after was set in different locations.
