Max Payne Games

Max Payne is a series about a NYPD detective in a film noir environment. It is a game series about losing loved ones and coping with the demons of addiction. Every game in the series is played from 3rd person perspective and right at the time of Matrix movies this game introduced bullet time. You can slow down the action for a few seconds and do your killing in that brief moment. Every Max Payne game from technical standpoint pushed the limits of graphical cards and to play it smoothly you had to have good PC. Another great aspect of Max Payne series is the game's music themes that makes the game atmospheric and immersive. It's not easy to play Max Payne games, but when you start there is no turning back. Three games came out and one movie with Marky Mark Wahlberg as a lead actor. Games are great, movie is meh and again, music is epic.

Max Payne

Back in 2001. when this game was released there was a lot of hype for this game. This was one of the first games Film Noir games and critics and gamers loved it. Action was fluid and fun, story was great with new gaming icon created, Max Payne is not your normal policeman, he can use bullet time to slow the time flow and inflict deadly wounds on mobsters, he is prone for suicide missions because of tragic death of his family. Instead of animated cut scenes we had comic book style of storytelling and that added on the dark noir atmosphere.

In 2nd Max Payne, Max was already losing it and lived more dangerously, non stop on edge. Game expanded quite a lot with great graphics, more weapons, more diverse levels and story was done great. Story was revolving around Mona, a character from the first game that was presumably dead, so Max took upon himself to discover why is she being hunted and what is her role in all that violence happening. Very interesting story and fun gameplay, one of the best 3rd person shooters ever.

Max Payne 3 

Nine years after Max completely changed, this time he got overweight drinking himself to death. All that was going bad for him, but something happened while he was working for a Brazilian firm that sparked his inner demon again and he went on a killing spree again. Game was developed by Rockstar Games, result is that the game sometimes feels like GTA game, great feature to have for any game. Attention to detail and familiar noir atmosphere returned in this final Max Payne game.
