Just Cause Games

Just Cause is a sandbox action series very similar to GTA games. Just imagine more freedom of movement and more destruction, and you will get a sense what Just Cause series is all about. Through all three games our protagonist is Rico Rodriguez and his mission is to dethrone local mob bosses, warlords and dictators. Over the top action and enjoyable graphics is what this series does the best, so prepare for high octane gameplay experience.

Just Cause

First game was released in 2006 by Eidos Interactive and developed by the Swedish developers Alavanche Studios. Devs realized how compelling open world sandbox games are and jump started brand new franchise. First game was set on an island called San Esperito and our hero Rico Rodriguez was sent there to overthrow a dictator Salvador Mendoza. You can join the rebel faction and start taking down the corrupt government. There are many tools on how to do that and almost every one of them ends violently. Freedom of exploration is this game's main selling point and you can just go parasailing and skydiving around as well as drive any vehicle you wish to.

Just Cause 2

Second game was released in 2010 by the same developers. Rico Rodriguez changed scenery in the second game as this time he would be traveling to Panau, a fictional island somewhere in Southeast Asia. This time he needs to overthrow another dictator named Pandak "Baby" Panay (inspiration for the villain came from Red Khmers). Great new addition to the Just Cause 2 gameplay is a grappling hook that can be attached to any surface and launch Rico in the air where he can paraslide, shoot and blow up everything around him with ill intentions. Freedom of movement and chaos is even more increased in 2nd installment and it is my favorite game in the series.

Just Cause 3

Last game in the series was released no too long ago in 2015. This time Rico Returned with the vengeance as his new mission from the Agency is to return to his homeland of Medici, Mediterranean republic that has fallen under the control of a dictatorship led by General Sebastiano Di Ravello, nothing really new as narrative goes. Game was criticized for it's lack of original story and performance issues, as well as denuvo protection. Great looking environments is what this series is mostly known for and you can see on the screenshot how fun it can be experiencing it while playing the game. New tool in Rico arsenal is Wingsuit and with the grappling hook and other traveling gear he can truly do some amazing acrobatics.

People often criticize this series for not having a good story and plot, but I LOVE IT! The main goal of video games is to have fun, and this series is very good at it.

Absolutely, this game series oozes with fun.
