Grand Theft Auto Games pt.1

Every man, woman and child has heard about Grand Theft Auto games and most of them played it. Grandma doing drive by's in GTA game is not that implausible scene these days. Rockstar Games can make pretty incredible games and today they are among most successful gaming companies focused on open world sandbox games. GTA is their bread and butter. Every GTA game is a chaotic wild ride and every game keeps getting better and better with more things to do. GTA games are controversial and they received the most media flak about their "unhealthy" games for young minds, I always said, fuck the media and lemme play some GTA! In pt.1 I'll talk about old GTA games.

GTA

Back in 1997. when earth was younger this game was released and it was interesting to say the least. Right away people took notice of GTA because of player freedom to do what he wants. First two GTA games had overhead gameplay perspective. Roam the city and drive over pedestrians or do missions, earn money and start your criminal career. Once you die you get good old iconic WASTED sign that we have in every GTA game released. Simple but decent start of the series.

GTA 2

1999. is when the second game was released and the game was very fun again, overhead perspective returned with more detailed textures and VFX effects. Players can roam in three city districts doing quests and dispatching different gangs. You can get out from the car and walk around and use different weapons or just steal a tank and create mayhem. Players could do some new activities like taxi or bus driving to get some legal money. This is where Rockstar smelled the potential and started to create modern GTA games. 

GTA 3

This game was a birth of modern GTA games. Game is in full 3D played from 3rd person perspective. We play as a criminal named Claude in Liberty City, city inspired by New York. Liberty City truly is alive and big sandbox area where players can do what ever the hell they want. GTA 3 had very responsive driving model that made the game so much fun, you can drive almost anything in the game and that vehicle would respond as it should. If you play like a maniac police will notice you and you would end up wasted very quickly if you are not careful. Big hit in 2001.

GTA Vice City

This is one of my GTA favorites. In this game we play in Vice City, city inspired by Miami with our main character Tommy Vercetty (voiced by good old Ray Liotta). What I liked the most about this game is the comedic approach, there are so many crazy characters in the game and by doing missions you would laugh and have fun playing at the same time, great combo to have. As you progress through the game more you get more cash and now you can purchase many game buisnesses to increase your profits. Fun game worth playing even today.
