Gaming Retrospective - Warhammer: Mark of Chaos

in #gaming7 years ago

Mark of Chaos is a Warhammer fantasy RTS game released in 2006 and developed by the Black Hole Entertainment studio. Before Total War: Warhammer we had this game with one of the awesomest cinematic game trailers ever released. That trailer hyped me for the game back in the days like a motherfucker. Nothing beats Warhammer these days, it is the most brutal, unforgiving and very lore rich fantasy universe. Story campaign is played from several races perspectives: Empire, Chaos, High Elves and Rat race Skaven.

Battles are played in Total War style without base building, main goal is to increase your gold and with that gold you can buy more units and improve them. Once deployed terrain have the effect on your troops depending on the elevation and units are susceptible to morale damage when they are losing a battle, low morale is a sign to retreat your units and replenish their numbers. Stamina is also one of the factors to consider, once your units chased enough enemies they will slowly lose their effectiveness. Hero units can level up and can equip items to improve them for the late game, Chaos even has an option to have their hero ascend to Demon Princehood, a powerful late game super unit. Very fun game for any Warhammer fan.
