Gaming Retrospective - Syndicate

Syndicate is a futuristic FPS game from 2012 developed by Starbreeze Studios, a reboot of original isometric real time tactical game from 1993. Syndicate flirts heavily with a cyberpunk theme, although it does not have a heavy detailed world like Deuse Ex game, Syndicate can hold on it's own quite well. Syndicate is one of those story driven sigleplayer FPS games that is basically good for only one playthrough, there has been a lot FPS games over the years with the same formula, and Syndicate is one of the more intriguing ones. In this world the players take the role of a special agent capable of disrupting corrupt corporate world of cyberpunk earth in a year 2069.

Our agent is equipped with a brand new chip making him capable of amazing feats like entering a "dataverse", a hackers dream where he can change certain parameters of the environment and enemies alike. Using dataverse is one of the best features of this game and things you can do with it can be compared with Adam Jensen abilities from Deus Ex. Hack into weapons and make them miss fire, hack into enemies heads and make them suicide. He can also use huge weapon arsenal and every weapon can be upgraded and modded, a very nice weapon system if there ever was one. Game also implemented some RPG elements where player can unlock new weapons as they progress through out the game. If you like cyberpunk theme, Syndicate can be worth your time.
