Gaming Retrospective - Painkiller

Painkiller is another fast paced FPS game released in 2004 and made by the People Can Fly game studio. Painkiller reminds me of Serious Sam games, game will throw at you massive amounts of enemies that will try to swarm you. Setting is much darker though. Story is one of the craziest one I've got the chance to experience. Our protagonist is a dead guy named Daniel Garner sent to purgatory to do heavens dirty work in stopping armies of Hell in their attempt to take the Heavens. He was offered a chance to see his wife that died with him in the car accident if he beats the Hell generals, fun task. Insane game.

Painkiller has many interesting weapons you can use on many gazillion of demons, every weapon is very imaginative and fan favorite stake gun is still one of the most satisfying weapons ever made in any FPS game. Impaling monsters on walls with stake gun firing 1m long stakes never gets boring. Every weapon has secondary firing mode for more chaos. There are many different and grotesque levels to be explored in this game and once in a while you will get to fight some truly massive bosses. Painkiller is one of those fun old school shooters worth mentioning.
