Gaming Retrospective - Dominion: Storm Over Gift 3
If you talk about obscure forgotten RTS games from the 90's you must mention Dominion: Storm Over Gift 3. Game was released in 1998 before Starcraft and was developed by Ion Storm Studios. Game will immediately give you old school vibe once you see the screenshots from the game, great looking isometric graphics, I love it. Story of this game is happening on the planet called Gift 3 where 4 factions are fighting for dominion. Those four factions are Humans, Scorps, Darkens and Mercs.
Every faction is distinct from one another with different robotic SF themes. For example Humans are average in every area of combat, while Darkens have many heavy units, Scorps have many weak units and such. Every faction also has special super weapons that could change the course of any battle. Soundtrack of the game was awesome, you can check it bellow. Dominion: Storm Over Gift 3 is one of those RTS games that took inspiration from Age of Empires and transferred the same formula to SF setting, fun gameplay, awesome music, what more you can ask for.
