Gaming Retrospective - Clive Barker's Undying
Clive Barker's Undying is a FPS game from 2001 developed by Dreamworks Interactive. At the time of Half Life, Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 multiplayer shooters popularity, this game came out as an interesting new singleplayer FPS survival horror game. This game was special for it's strange "Twilight Zonesque" setting where our hero Patrick Galloway investigates occult happenings at his friends estate. It turns out that in the past family of his friend discovered strange book and started using it and got cursed by the Undying King's curse. Your goal is to investigate how did it happen and help your friend in this fun horror survival FPS game. There are some nice story twists in this game worth checking out without me spoiling it.
Patrick can use his old faithful revolver in addition to some magic spells that costs mana. That combination of shooting and magic was interesting, and the spooky atmosphere of the game gave the game excellent immersion. Prepare to see unpleasant things in this old school FPS game.
