Gaming Retrospective - Area 51

Area 51 is another one of those obscure single player FPS games, game was released in 2005 and was developed by Midway Austin. In this game you can expect to see a lot of aliens and you will put them to sleep even more of them with your big arsenal of guns. Main protagonist in the game is voiced by one and only David "The Truth is Out There" Duchovny and you can even hear the voice of Marilyn Manson. Story takes us in an Area 51 where an alien virus was released mutating people into strange alien hybrids, our company of marines was sent to clear the base.

Gameplay is your standard shooter game with guns blazing and later in the game our protagonist Ethan Cole gets affected by the virus, strangely he didn't lose his mind like others did and will now be able to use strange alien biological powers. Those powers can be useful at time, but nothing beats good old dual wielding shotgun blasts. For 12 years old game, the game still looks pretty decent and will run nice on any new PC. For any fans of Area 51, moon landing conspiracies and Illuminati, this game could be an interesting one to check out.
