Gaming Retrospective - Anachronox
Anachronox is a game from 2001 developed by Ion Storm, this was the last game from that dev studio, and what a game it was. Anachronox is an RPG like no other, game is very deep and while playing it you can have a wide range of emotions. Game flirts with comedy, tragedy, hope and despair. Players take a role of private investigator Sylvester "Sly" Bucelli in a SF Cyberpunk setting where he will find out about the mystery that is threatening the whole universe. Would you believe that most of the story of Mass Effect is inspired by this game.
Gameplay consists of hub 3D world exploration, adventure elements and turn based combat. There are many different enviroments you can explore and gather a party that will help you finish the lenghty story and amuse you with their antics. Even though the graphics based on Quake 2 engine didn't age well, all attention to details in the SF world of Anachronox is staggering and worth exploring today.
One of the best games i remember playing! Its quirky and kinda weird too lol
That is the main selling point of the game imho, so much weirdness going around :)
