Game Review - Path of Exile: The Fall of Oriath
Who knew that one day Diablo would be a left behind by the competition. In almost every way possible PoE is more complex and intriguing ARPG on the market today and with the new free to play expansion, Fall of Oriath, Path of Exile took the crown in every way possible from the previous king of the genre.
This expansion is huge, from historic perspective every ARPG expansion would feature one more story act. Fall of Oriath introduced 6 new acts!
New content is hard and unforgiving, so if you want to create a hardcore character, don't. Better to start in Harbinger League with a brand new character and learn everything from the beginning.
Main theme through out this expansion is god slaying, many old gods awakened on the both continents and to beat the big baddie Kitava, the god of corruption, you will need to drain the essences of many old gods who will not just hand it to you. Prepare to die a lot if not geared properly and if you do not have optimized build.
Path of Exile is a game where you can spend days finding that perfect 6 linked gear piece that will boost your power immensely. Sometimes you will have to engage in poe/trade site, I most certainly did, there you can spend ingame currency to purchase strong equipment.
You will need any help you can get with insanely hard labyrinth where you pick your ascendancy class that specializes in one particular area of expertise, for example Marksman is you typical ranged class, and that is just one of 15 other choices. After completing every act and Lab runs, end game atlas maps will push you to your character limits.
The Pantheon is another feature introduced in this expansion where players can kill gods and gain some of their powers. Skill tree is where you will spend most of the time theory crafting your character. To this day there hasn't been a skill tree as complex as this one.
This expansion is a pinnacle of ARPG gaming and any fan of this gaming genre should try this game out and see what all the fuss is about. All hail the new king!

Yes, Reaper of Souls is now very stale. Even Necromancer pack couldn't keep me playing, I leveled him, found the gear, there's just nothing to do. PoE is very rewarding and deep, you can always find crazy new build and start gearing for it. Free to play, install and let your mind be blown away.
it is really stale, because it is an old game :/ they should make sequel, not Necromancer pack.. However i have to try this game, if you are talking about it like this :D
I really need to get back into playing this. Downloaded it about a year ago and played for, like, 14-16 hours over a week with my friends but then they stopped and I just never got back to it. Super fun game, with an insane skill tree system.
That skill system is easy to get lost in. Yes, this expansion is epic, all those skill combinations and support gems + crafting, customization at it's best.
Certainly worth a look :)
