Best PC Games of 2016.

We are at that time of the year where it is safe to wrap up the best games of the year. Just like every year, 2016 was a great year for gaming with a lot of innovations in every department, from graphics, sound, level design and gameplay. However, 2016 didn't really had that epic game that everyone would talk about, we had some great sequels but nothing that really stands out. Without further ado here is the top 10 list of my favorite games of 2016. 

Grim Dawn

This is hands down one of my favorite APRG's ever released. This game came out at the best possible time to gain some new audience, Diablo 3 is already old, Path of Exile has also grown a grey beard, this ARPG really offers fresh gameplay and truly great itemization and skills customization options. All that in an interesting Lovecraftian dark setting, you can't go wrong with this one. 

Dishonored 2

We returned to Dunwall in a critically acclaimed sequel from very popular first game. This game is truly a visual treat if ever there was one. In Dishonored 2 we can play as two characters this time, each with their own skills set, Corwo and Emily. Just like in first game you can take stealthy approach or kill everything. Aside from some technical issues, this game is worth your time. 

Battlefleet Gothic Armada

As I said many times before, I'm a huge fan of Warhammer40k universe and this game offered more of that interesting and brutal universe. This is a space combat battle simulator where huge capital ships engage in a tactical battle. There are 5 playable factions, each with their own ships and tactics. Imperium of Man, Chaos, Orks, Eldar and Tau. Flank your enemies or ram them with huge battleships in this great space strategy game.

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak

Homeworld is one of the best RTS games of all time, and Deserts of Kharak continued on this path to glory. However, this time battles took place on a Desert planet of Kharak. It is a prequel of Homeworld games and this game explains how it all came to be. Very nice looking graphics and great nail biting battles in my opinion made this game one of the best ones in 2016.

Total War: Warhammer

Just as I like Warhammer40k, I also like fantasy Warhammer, if you combine Total War game with insane fantasy rich lore of Warhammer you will get this game. A true gem, and I would call this one the best game of 2016. There are two main ways to play this game, strategic or world map that is a turn based, and when you find a suitable enemy battles go in real time mode where you can give all sorts of tactical orders to your troops. Some of the monstrous units really give flavor to the Total War series.

Xcom 2

This turn based strategy game/RPG is not for everyone because if you are not careful, your game will end very fast and aliens will wear your skin as a mask. This is a hardcore game where every move must be calculated. If you go in brainless you will get critical hits from every angle and your battle squad will melt. In this sequel aliens took control of the earth, you are part of the resistance trying to get rid of alien menace for good. One of the best games of 2016.

Doom

I've just recently finished this game, and WOWZA! This game can give you an adrenaline rush like no other. Return of the Doom is more than welcome, action is quick paced and you will always be on the move or become demon meat. Weapons are great and this time there are two upgradeable mods for every weapon. Execution animations are one of the  best features of the game where you can stagger demons and get close and rip them apart. Adrenaline filled eye candy, Play this!

Civilization VI

This list wouldn't be complete without Civilization game. There are so many great features in Civilization VI, let's start with an amazing music, it changes depending what nation you play. Also great new additions are the provinces where where you can build wonders and specialized buildings for culture, war and research. Place all that in an eye pleasing graphical environment and you got yourself another hit. Time consuming, but well worth your time.  

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex games were always something special, this sequel to the Human Revolution is great in almost every aspect. Only one bad thing I'd say is that the game is badly optimized for older PC configurations, but if you have a new PC this game is a must have. Adam Jensen is here to stay for a long time. Check this game now or later, it is a spectacle. 

Overwatch

Even though I've played this game only for a week, that time showed me that this game has a lot of potential for many years ahead. It is already shaping to be the new Esport. I only wonder will Blizzard change their plans and make this Free to Play game and utilize more micro transaction options. We will see. Great team arena shooter for friends and family.
