MMG's Discord Ranking System (DRS) for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
This post will aim to explain Money Match Gaming's Discord Ranking System for Smash Bros. Ultimate competitors.
The MMG team has taken the last 3 months away from holding weekly events to better structure a rewarding economic environment for all players, both casual and competitive.
Need To Knows - Who's Eligible for DRS?
Money Match Gaming's Discord Ranking System (DRS) will only be made available to players that either sub to MMG for the Month via Twitch.tv(we suggest using Amazon Prime or getting a friends, so that it is free), or players that follow MMG on Dlive.tv(free).
Players that sub via Twitch.tv will only be eligible for rewards and benefits associated with the month they subbed. However, a player that has only subbed for one month will retain their rank status until they either sub for a new month or follow MMG on Dlive.tv to regain DSR eligibility.
Discord Ranking System
The new Discord Ranking System was created with the intent to encourage players to stay engaged with MMG events in order to progress in rank. Players will see more rewards, benefits, and opportunity for rewards as they climb their way up the MMG DRS.
MMG has taken steps to ensure that all competitors have a way to compete in events for Free. In ensuring that events stay free, we have created a model for rewards that requires all competitors to contribute to the community in some way.
Starting Level - Basic Rewards
All players that compete in a MMG event will be labeled as Tournament Players, as a starter place in MMG's Discord server. How you rank up varies slightly depending on which option you choose to compete/support MMG.
Both options contribute to the same ranking system. They are simply options for entry. Choose your path:
Twitch.tv DRS
For Players That Choose Twitch.tv Sub
If a player in MMG's DRS is subbed to MMG at "themoneymatchstream" on Twitch.tv, they will be eligible for 3 Rank Challenge requests a month between themselves and a player of the next highest tier. Additional Rank Challenges can be made for $1 USD.
Dlive.tv DRS
For Players That Choose DLive.tv If a player in MMG's DRS is following @moneymatchgaming on Dlive.tv, they may either [transfer or donate]() 50 LP to request a Rank Challenge between themselves and a player of the next highest tier.Low tier players may submit an unlimited number of Rank Challenges per month.
How Submitting A RC Request Works
Feeding The Higher Tier
The request from the lower ranking player will be posted in a Discord channel available only to players of the tier being challenged. Any individual players from the tier being challenged may accept any Rank Challenges (RC) being made by a lower tier player, however MMG admins will have the final say on RC match-ups.
IF Challenger Wins
Should the lower tier player win their RC match-up, they will be granted an increase in Rank by MMG admins and receive 100 LP ($1 USD for Twitch.tv subs).
IF Higher Tier Wins
Should the higher tier player win the RC challenge, the higher tier player will receive the donation (50 LP or $1 USD for Twitch subs) made by the lower tier player.
How To DeRank
If a higher tier player loses 5 consecutive Rank Challenges they will be downgraded one rank.
