Injustice 2 Android: In-depth Review And Analysis
All images used in this review are screenshots from my device.
Like all fighting games, it is all about the win but not like all fighting games, Injustice redefines the struggle and the battle for supremacy between teams. With the characteristic TAP TAP controls from NETHERREALM, it might give a boring intuition but with what I've seen so far, it is action packed! The first version - which was offline- was released November 21 2013 and it surely made game lovers head-over-heels. Now with the release of Injustice 2 which is packed with a lot more features, different modes - Story, Leagues, Campaign, Arenas, Resource Missions, Operations - gameplay has been upped and it has been worthwhile. Will you walk with me on this journey to unravel, even to the most infinitesimal "mystery" of this game? OK, Tighten your seat belts, keep your eyes glued to the screen, it promises to be fun.
Firstly, this game is available on Android and iOS on the google play store and the Apple store respectively. I got mine for 1.88gb size from play store which took me about two hours on an average speed of 800 kb/s. The additional data is split into two obb files, one on 400 mb and the other, 1.4gb. The former was the first to download after which it temporarily installs before downloading the 1.4gb.
GAME MODES
- Campaign
On launching the game, it takes approx 40 seconds to load on my device and we are welcomed by the different kind of game modes aforementioned. The first is the campaign mode which is a 3 vs 3 battle. You are given a default team comprising:
- Batman
- Joker
- Wonderwoman
The start off is the first level which consists of 5 different stages after which you get to fight the main boss. Such is the case for all levels in the 1st and all other tabs. There's also the normal and heroic mode in each of the levels. You get to play the latter after you have completed the former. As you would expect, increased difficulty for the heroic mode. In short, the tabs consist of 5 different levels with 6 (including the boss fight) stages which takes it to a total of 30 fights. You would be needing 60 fights to complete both the normal and heroic mode.
- Operations
Right below the campaign mode is the operations. You actually select one of your heroes and assign to a specific task. The task defined by the mission. It doesn't really require fighting.. You just assign them to the mission which lasts for a specific period of time before receiving your rewards which can be in form of credits or diamonds. Each operation also has its own unique requirement.
- Arena
There's also the arena mode just like the factions wars of the famous MKX( Mortal Kombat X) which allows fights with real opponents. There are different player levels for this section and it is strictly determined by performances of arena fights. It also has the leaderboard which ranks players based on score. Just above the online match is the arena store which comprises different items - hero shards and gears- that can be purchased with arena medals.
- Leagues
This is depressing for me because ever since I've explored the league, I've not been accepted into any league (no one wants a newbie??). Anyway, this is where you join leagues and fight alongside team mates and you also get to create your own league for 150 diamonds.
- Challenge
This is a very tricky section due to its difficulty. On successful completion however, you get the reward of the challenge which would also be your opponent throughout your fight. It is very hard and there are different requirements for each challenger. The former challenge required a tech class hero like batman as part of the team while this requires an arcane class hero.
In this challenge, I'll be taking on hellboy and as you can see.. They have a team score of 8000+ while I sit at 5000..the odds are definitely against me so I'll back off.
- Resource Missions
You get to take part in different missions everyday with increasing difficulty. You also get different rewards everyday for participating. I particularly like this section due to its moderate difficulty and the mouthwatering rewards. I have not really progressed though.
My favourite part! Actually it is a story line like one mortal kombat series where you got to follow the story and fight in between. Yes that's it.. But you can only use batman and the story is all about feud between batman and superman. Apparently, the world is agog due to different crimes and superman has taken it upon himself to eliminate the threats. By eliminate, I mean kill. Batman does not agree with him and that constitutes the basis of the feud which would later degenerate. You get to fight a boss in each episode and part 1 consists of 4 episodes. It is especially hard so don't expect it to be a walk-in-the-park. Have I mentioned that this section has a constant difficulty? I.E It is independent of alll upgrades done on batman or the team or your level or your progress, the difficulty is the same as a newbie and as a pro.
Then there's the store which you can get your favourite heroes for real money and also get heroes shards, equipments, packs and all.
GAMEPLAY
It's a 3 vs 3 tap tap battle. And I like I said earlier, you may think it boring but sorry it's not. You work hand-in-glove with your team mates to decapitate your foes. Each character has its own unique ability.. Like the canary cry for black canary e.t.c. As you fight, your energy bar increases and when it is full, you unleash a super move that deals significant damage on your opponent. There's the modifiers which increase the difficulty of the game, it actually makes it more interesting. Modifiers like automated tagging, damage overtime, health regeneration (opponent) e.t.c.
What Are The Minimum Requirements?
RAM
Let's talk about the ram. Actually, I haven't really tested it on a 1 gb ram but with the gameplay I've seen on my 2gb ram device, 1 gb should be able to handle a "not flawless but playable" kinda gameplay.
STORAGE
On initial download, you will need at least 2gb free before you can install. Due to the constant gameplay and its online nature, some additional "packages" may be added which can sparingly increase the size.
GPU
I was so sad the day I discovered my phone was actually Mali 400MP. I prepared myself for poor game graphics and my fears were confirmed when I tested it with the injustice 2. The graphics were not all smooth even with patches of black in some areas as seen below.
Mali 400MP is a no no but I believe T720 would be the least required for this game, with the snapdragon series taking the recommended spots.
This game, according to me, will best be enjoyed on a 5.5 inch device and a resolution of 1280 x720 and above.
Don't let me bore you with much talk. I think that's all you need to know about Injustice 2.
Thanks for reading.
Weldone bro, you have started game too. Kudos
Gaming was my initial niche and it gave me a foothold on steemit. I just took a long break but I'm back now. Better
Hmmm bad ass
