Day 2: This War of Mine Gameplay

I have online games I seriously wish to tell you about but due to the ailing network, I have been left frustrated. Especially my FIFA mobile which I'm half way into, I have been preparing a special world cup episode and I just hope the things change for the better. In the meantime, I have decided to continue with my Epic Survival game which I restarted few days ago. In the previous day, we had a lot to steal from the old couples. Materials, Meds, Food and all which would last for a while. I would do anything to keep the team alive for as long as I can, even to the point of rejecting others seeking shelter... They at best, can only be a liability. More mouths to feed and persons to worry of means more problems.

Pavle returns home and they all seemed happy to receive him. Although Pavle's profile says he's tired, sad and hungry. A bed is the top priority now, we have more than enough materials to make it and as Pavle gets to work, Bruno who has slept poorly, Slightly sick and hungry decides to take the advantage of the meds and equally fill his belly. The meds seem to relieve him of his problems. Meanwhile, Pavle has completed the bed and laid on it as the reward for his efforts. Katia? The lady is currently cleaning up the stockpiles of dirt in the house. The workshop where we made the bed is very useful a place although a -

SIMPLE WORKSHOP

As the name implies, it is used for making useful tools that are vital to your survival. Although some may not seem overly important, they are quite useful. Our needed items are found in the;

• Household items: The bed can be made with 6 "components" and 8 "wood" and it takes one hour to complete. Take note that one hour in this game is not as long as in the real world. As 24 hours actually takes 10 minutes, one hour is relatively short; as in seconds. For a chair, you need 3 of each of the aforementioned and for a simple heater, you will need 18 and 6 respectively. While for radio, which is quite useful in getting information, 7 components and 2 electric parts.

Fortunately for us, we were able to get 4 electric parts and a lot of components. Just as soon as Katia is done making the radio, she decides to listen to it. The first station (City today) starts with a warning from the rebel leader, informing listeners of the dangers of crossing the front line.
Radio one says that despite the desperate attempts by the rebels trying to lift the siege of Pogoren, the city remains cut off. Apparently the government has/will not allow any aid to enter the city based on the surmise that it would end up on rebel hands. Quite harsh. Weather Fm (for weather forecasts) says the next few days should be nice and warm, perfect for a nice stroll. Katia switches of the radio, hasn't really helped at the moment. Meanwhile, Pavle awakes and he is sad, he keeps thinking about that old man and his wife. A chat seems overdue, but no one is up for one.

Interestingly, the workshop can be used to make other smaller units like crude stove used for cooking raw food (which are barely satisfying), moonshine still which can be used for making foul-smelling booze out of water and sugar, it is just for trade by barter but sadly, trades are not sure to be "worth it". The most useful, to me, is the metal workshop which can be used to make very vital items like shovels for clearing rubbles, crowbars for breaking doors and knives for self defense. Much later, the metal workshop can be used to build more advanced items and even repair fire arms. And lastly, the rainwater collector used for filtering rainwater to be used for cooking, to make alcohol, etcetera.. The lockpick is needed to open a few doors that come after rubbles and it does the job quickly and quietly (single use though) but since we are at home, I will go for the crowbar which does the job slowly and loudly.

This day has been - for the most part- used to
rest and make items needed for our next adventure which is not tonight. This night is going to be used to further rest and it is already upon us. Bruno who has had most of the woes will be sleeping on the bed tonight while Pavle who is sad and hungry will be sleeping on the chair. Katia, she rested last night so she will be on guard in the event of thieves, she already had her much needed sleep. We plan on making a lot of crowbars and clearing other dirt around the house tomorrow then we set out for another hunt.
