Cooperative shooters are very popular nowadays. Just watch games like PlayerUnknown: BattleGrounds, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Fortnite and the PayDay series. With a couple of friends loose bangs is always fun and that should have been a thinker of Lion Game. This developer has contributed to the PayDay games and now comes with RAID: World War II. Based on PayDay's formula, the developer is now trying to turn its own turn. It is also remarkable that this game appeared fairly out of order on the market. Can this game surprise me? You can read that below.

A less serious look at the Second World War

When you start the game, you will see a cinematic video in which your commander with British accent tells you how bad the Nazis are. This commander is none other than British comedy John Cleese. From that moment on, you already know that this is not the standard World War II shooter and it's all going to be less serious. The Allies are bad when we can believe Control Nickname of John Cleese and it is up to you to take on the Third Reich. Where, when and how does it matter, as long as you do it. He also squeezes an eye when he reads reports stating that a quantity of Nazi gold has suddenly disappeared. 'To work!' he cries while enjoying his tea.

After watching this airy video, the game will throw you in the tutorial mission. Before you start, you can choose which character and class you are playing. There are a total of four different types of soldiers. You can choose from Recon, Assault, Insurgent and Demolitions. In view of the names, they all speak quite well and they all have their own and unique skills. Each character has a so-called Warcry. They can activate you for a while and it will give you and your team some boosts. For example, with Recon, you get auto-aim and your team will do more damage to their weapons for a short period of time. After making a choice, you can choose another nationality that is purely cosmetic. The tutorial mission teaches you the basic skills of the game and gives a first impression.

AI with the IQ of a fish stick

You will receive a few goals that you must complete. Determine this nazi, learn to walk, hide his body, and so on. All parts are discussed, but feel far from satisfactory. First and foremost, shooting, which of course is a core element of shooters, feels very clumsy and that's mainly because you do not know well whether or not you hit an enemy. Only with a shot in the head are you sure your enemy is lying. If you shoot in his torso, you can hardly see or hit the enemy. Very often the enemy does not even respond when the bullet flies through the rib cage. Is that about the weapons? No, not that.

The big problem with the weapons is that the shooting experience is often ruined by the AI in the game. The AI in this game has the IQ of a fish stick and does the most strange and stupid things. As mentioned before, they respond very strangely or simply to bullets that remain in their bodies, but they are sometimes not touched. This is because the Nazis make the most arbitrary maneuvers. Mikken is not very easy, as the game feels the best. Sometimes they suddenly walk and walk against walls, sandbags and all kinds of other objects. Even when you almost hit them, they almost do not react and sometimes they do not even return. Adjusting the difficulty here helps a little, but only minimal.

Graphically outdated and repetitive missions

If you want to enjoy beautiful scenery or beautiful environments in the game, you'll be deceived too. During the tutorial, you notice how ugly this game looks like. And that puts him in several aspects. For example, there are many textures missing. On buildings and walls, but also at AI-driven characters and the people you play with. In all, everything looks fine, at least, for a PS3 game. Graphically, this game for PS4 concepts is not visible, and it does not belong to the PS4 at all. Now graphics are not all in one game, because it's mainly about the gameplay, but also here you soon looked forward to it.

Your team consists of four people including yourself. You can choose to play with real people or to control the other three characters from your team by the AI. Given the latter is not really an option because of the stupidity of the AI, you can play the best online with others. Besides, you can also choose to play the game solo without your AI-driven soldiers, but we're already guessing it. Then you've been looking forward to a mission. You have about a dozen missions that you can complete and although they appear to be different at first, that is also very much against. The missions seem to be all together because it consists of deciding this camp, sabotage those zeppelin, save the Nazis for a few minutes, and so on.

Conclusion

RAID: World War II appeared fairly out of order without any form of advertising and that is probably good too. Even though you can have fun with friends in this game and know some nice moments here and there, you'll soon get bored by the repetitive missions and the many issues that this title is fighting for. The gameplay is mainly helped with soap by the incredibly stupid and annoying AI. The Nazis are doing the most arbitrary and strange things, making your experience with the game soon negative. Graphically, too, it is not visible due to missing textures and details. Generally, the concept of RAID: World War II is fun, but it's a big mess in practice. If the developer wants to keep this game alive, they will have to throw out a lot of updates.

Pros

➕ With friends the game has its moments

Negative points

➖ AI is very stupid and irritating
➖ Repetitive missions
➖ Graphically incredibly outdated
➖ Game feels and does not look finished

Thanks for your precious time.
