IBT Survival Island Game - Progress Report Five

These updates will continue to be posted weekly if possible. All  images here are  original and built from scratch for our new Steem SMT  game.

A gentle reminder the game is experimental, using the latest game editor. We are aiming to release it with the official release of SMT.  As I have no control over @ned and  the official release of SMT's I cannot say with certainly this product will ever get finished and released as intended.

The main value of these posts is to share with Steemian's what goes into making an Educational game that can work with a Steem rewards system.

Mostly this week it's been about placing structures and interacting with the environment.

Now you might think, well that's pretty simple eh...just click with your mouse and some mysterious program does the rest..hahaha I wish!!! well not quite, everything has to be coded, you have to build the items, you have to place them on a map, you have to code how to interact with them...it's very hard work!

In a survival game every item counts, which means items need to be broken down and re-used as well..very tricky :)

Above you can see our IBT Survival Island character interacting with a rock, like harvesting some smaller rocks for building etc (you can see the rocks in the inventory going up on the right). It's important to note this isn't how the end game will come out, it's just the mechanics of the game being developed and skills in coding being improved etc.

There has been many continued struggles with collisions and other errors with materials not fitting into meshes and many other new things to learn...but we are getting there.

1. 2. This week people can help by finding a good link to @ned's official position on SMT's. If you know of a good link feel free to leave it in a comment below and I will check it out. The entire game rests on the release of the official SMT or it may never be integrated with Steem....well at least not inline with the original vision.
