PUBG VS FORTNIGHT

This is a huge discussion in the gaming world at the moment, with both games taking the Battle royale genre with storm. I have played both games and constantly argue with people about which one is better and why. However people fail to realise that these games although they share many similarities are also very different. So in my opinion you cannot judge them directly against each other, purely because they are the same game mode.

Firstly before I carry on, my favourite game out of the two is PUBG. It just is an amazing game, the way all the sounds can put you edge, the combat, the blue zone creeping up and forcing fights. I think all the basic things are very solid and the maps that they have are far better and varied than Fortnight. Also tension and even fear that comes from this game is not the same as in Fortnight, where personally I’m not so afraid to die in. This could be because on average Fortnight games are a lot faster so you don't have to commit as much time to it.

You also have to realise the realism scale that these two games are both on, you have PUBG aiming for completely realistic and on the opposite side Fortnight. H1Z1 would be classed in the middle, I have played this and I can only describe it as a more unrealistic PUBG and in my opinion not as exciting. You can immediately tell how the realism scale in both games is different, firstly the graphic style is completely different, the combat, and other mechanics such as instant building and destroying houses on Fortnight compared to the slow health regen and armour on PUBG.

So if you look at both games and compare them, they are not very similar at all. If you want an intense, long, realistic battle royal then PUBG is your game, but if you want a less serious, more fun and shorter game then Fortnight is the one. It also has to be said that from what my friends have said PUBG is very poorly optimised for console so take that into consideration. And of course the price is a big factor with Fortnight being free and PUBG costing around £15 and slightly more expensive on console.

I suggest checking out Fortnight as it is free! Then if you feel you want something more intense and realistic but in the same format then spend the money on PUBG because it's definitely worth it!
