This crazy week has been full of change and transition! Highs and lows aplenty, now the dust has finally settled and I feel I can share some thoughts about it. In short the outcome of it all is that I've moved my streaming efforts to
As I said in the stream, twitch is the best place for me to focus my efforts now. That is if we ever want to achieve some sustainable income from streaming and of course gaming. YouTube has shut me down, restricted and demonetized me so many times now it's clearly not for me. No matter if it's because I'm supposedly too sexually suggestive, too much of a potty mouth or talk about too many controversial topics for their almighty advertisers; I am simply past caring now.
When I think about the hours I've put into producing and vlogging there over the past 10 YEARS.. well my words just can't explain. Thinking too much about it gets depressing. I remember before YouTube was bought out by Google. It was the realest, coolest little community of awkward bedroom bloggers and people who presented a voice that was absolutely outside of the box. We content creators were the value, we made the platform what it is today and this is how they sell us out. There was a time when I was proud to direct people to some of the most awakening and conscious content available online, it was all on YouTube.
Anyway this is plenty old news to you all I'm sure, I even blogged about it before way back here. Thankfully we have Steemit and Dtube for content creators to be honored and rewarded. I have Twitch for my gaming streams and well.. all my content is still up and hosted on there, I guess I can be thankful for that? Thanks for the good times YouTube, for being my online home for the past decade. For deleting me and constantly pushing me to look for new answers to express myself. Also allowing me to cut my live streaming teeth with you, I truly love the live medium. It's how I got out the adult industry, it's how I plan to continue to build our brand and it's the future for many of us on our way to full-time online incomes!
N00B ON TWITCH ALL FOLLOWS APPRECIATED!
This is one of my last live gaming streams I posted on YouTube and I'm talking about the excitement of moving into the gaming space. I knew it would be a big jump and a whole new audience, however it just made sense at the time to stay with my loyal subscribers. Then for the YouTube bots came along and demonetized over 2/3rds of the channel lol. That was the final nail in the coffin! Thanks to their "ad-friendly" algorithm I was finally motivated to set up my twitch account and truly I do not regret it for a single second. The community over there has already been so welcoming and awesome!
So that is what I've been busy with this week and it had taken me away from Steemit for a minute. Ironically I was so close to finding my sweet spot. To use the daily streams as content for my steem posts and to optimizing my online time to maximize dad life. Fathering Kai is of course the top most, number one priority. However now that I'm on twitch I'm not sure what I'm going to do about vlogging and posting over here? Perhaps less frequently, not sure? I know I will still want to post Kai's life vlog diary to the YouTube channel. It's not about the money, it's about building his online presence and audience from early on and we feel he'll appreciate that. YouTube is for good or bad one of the most visited sites on the internet.
So I guess between producing his vlogs, my daily gaming streams and also making sure to spend time engaging with you all here on Steemit.. I'm not sure, something may give as I'm not taking any extra time away from Kai. We will have to see..
The only other big news I was going to talk about this week was what was happening to my dear bro @samstonehill. It has however been resolved now and with many lessons learned for us all regarding private master keys and steemit account recovery! I was going to write a post about it, however by the time I got over what was happening with me it already seems irrelevant to go over it again. Thanks brother, yep we just keep moving forwards! For me dtube and steemit are a new generation in empowering us as they bring people to a new currency and new way of seeing blockchain.
Twitch also helps people break out the system and get paid to play. However it does require a consistent commitment to be partnered and it is still using the old money. I would say it's more of a platform that helps gamers monetize our streams and for many that already is a huge leap from the old world ways of looking at income.
I appreciate your support in moving forwards bro and we'll be having a lot of fun over there if you ever stop by on a stream. Keep spreading the message and steem on! ๐
