Top 10 Co-op Games

in #gaming9 years ago

I really like Co-op games because most of them are mixes of single player and multiplayer games. Cooperative games bring the social aspect of playing with other people from multiplayer games together with the stories and objectives of single player games. Please take into account the games on this list are games I have enjoyed playing with my friends. I have not played every game ever and if you think I missed a game on this list or if you think i'm wrong, which is generally not the case, tell me in the comments. So lets get Started with listing stuff

10. Trine - Series

The Trine games are all beautiful side scrolling puzzle platformer games where you need to switch between the 3 characters for certain puzzles. I generally do not get that far into platformers but Trine was really cool. The environments you run through are the best I have seen in any platformer. How Trine works is there are 3 characters a knight, a theif, and a wizard. Each has a different ability and you need to switch off depending on the circumstances. The Co-op makes these games better because it is kind of annoying to keep switching characters to use there ability. I like playing with another person because it is good to have another mind thinking about these decently complicated puzzles. This game has a great Co-op experience and because of its originality it made it on my list.

9. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is one of the most unique ideas for a game I have ever seen. It requires two people to play and only one person needs to own the game. The other person just needs to be looking at the manual. How this game works is one player has a bomb with different puzzles, wires, codes, etc. on it. While the other player has to read the manual and help the guy with the bomb defuse it before time runs out. You need to really have good communication in this game or else !!BOOM!!. If your buddy tells you the wrong thing !!BOOM!!, If your friend calls you an  idiot and tells you to shut up while you have the manual and then you decide to tell him the wrong thing !!BOOM!!. This game can gets crazy intense and fun and some of the puzzles are really hard. I would recommend this game to anyone who has a friend and is looking to explode every five minutes.

8. Killing Floor 1 and 2

If you don't know what Killing Floor is, I can sum it up for you in the next sentence. You shoot chainsaw zombies while heavy rock music plays. Killing Floor is a first person shooter game where you have to survive rounds of zombies. I know it doesn't sound very original but this one is more fun than most zombie shooter games. There are classes that have different abilities and have different weapons. During a game you need to decide what to spend your resources on because the rounds are just going to get harder. Trust me you are going to want a coordinating team talking with each other in this game you can get overrun in seconds. You and your friend will feel like completely bad asses mowing down zombies or at least when you shut up the annoying witch zombies that scream every second. This game is just good zombie killing fun.

7. Orcs Must Die 2

Orcs Must Die is a orc survival third person shooter tower defense like game. You and your friends must stop the orcs from getting to your base. So you use magic or standard weapons depending on which person you choose to play as. It is way better to have another player by your side because there is a surprising amount of strategy you need in order to survive. You need to plan out traps which can kill orcs, guide them on a different path, or make them fly through the air into a hole of never ending death. This game is a total blast for you and a friend to murder green monster things in a lighthearted cartoony way.

6. Call of Duty Zombies

As I said in my Top 10 Multiplayer Games post I really haven't enjoyed Call of Duty since Black Ops 2. What I am saying is, I haven't played the newer ones so I am talking mainly about the ones Black Ops 2 and before. COD Zombies is really what made the series great. There was just something amazing about running around with zombie trains behind you while your looking for the dam pack a punch machine to upgrade your weapon. The thing about Cod Zombies is there is surprisingly, a lot to do. You can go look for all of the perk machines to try to live longer or you can try and look for easter eggs the that are hidden in the map. Many of the zombie maps are just so dam cool. On some maps you can shoot zombies from a moving bus, Alcatraz Prison, In the Pentagon, and there are many more maps you should really check out. Me and all my friends would no life these games whenever a new map would come out because they are just so fun and we had to find everything. If you haven't played the old zombies maps I would definitely do so the next time your going to play with friends.

5. Payday 2

Your telling me I can rob banks while wearing a chicken head with glasses and a mustache. Who knew breaking the law could be so fun and customized? Payday 2 is a bank robbing game where you and your team must come up with a strategy on how you want to carry out the heist. Are you going to walk around a bit and find all of the cameras and shoot them or are you going right to the vault because you couldn't wait and you had to fire your gun. You want a team you can count on in this game or else you get stuck with random idiots who will get the cops attention immediately and then you all get arrested or killed and you get no money. The customization is fantastic there are tons of different masks, guns, and class upgrades you can give your character. There are tons of different heists and robberies you can perform and some really tough difficulties. This is important to play with friends or at least someone you can talk to online because your not going to get any money if you are not well prepared.

4. Halo Series

The Halo games have always had really good campaigns and multiplayer. You can play all Halo campaigns with a friend. So two people can feel like high jumping space bad asses as master chief. The only problem with that is only one person gets to be Master Chief. I have always managed to settle this problem fairly by taking the player one controller before my friend so I am always Master Chief. Anyway it is really helpful to have a companion in these challenging shooters. A partner would be extremely helpful in that stupid flood hive level in Halo 3. The Halo series is one of the best video game franchises out there so enjoy its alien killing campaigns with a buddy.

3. Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 was made to be played Co-op for 2 to 4 people. The game can get kind of repetitive while playing by yourself so your friends make the game fun. Your friends will come in handy in boss fights that require 30,000 freaking bullets to defeat the boss. Borderlands 2's loot system is pretty great whenever you kill a boss or an enemy they drop money, ammo, or great weapons. The question is are you going to share the loot with your friends or are you going to take it all and make your friends worship you because they want that powerful gun they need in order to do a little bit of damage to enemies. You and your pals will enjoy exploring the world of Pandora in search of the hilariously evil Handsome Jack.  There are a lot of missions to do, weapons to collect, and things to kill. You and your friends will be addicted to this game for a long time and then you will get the dlc which just adds more game which means your addicted for longer than a long time.

2. Portal 2

Portal 2 offers one of the best Co-op campaigns I have ever played. I mean no crap its number 2 on this list its got to be good. Portal 2 offers a seperate Co-op campaign from the amazing single player story with  Cave Johnson and a robot potato. Portal 2's Co-op levels are way different from those you would find in the normal story. Every level generally requires two people doing two different thing at once. There are also new elements that were not in the original story like light bridges and gravity tube things. Portal 2's Co-op offers really cool and challenging puzzles that need two minds need to think about. Glados the once potato robot is in this campaign who brings the comedic element from the single player game into the Co-op. You and your friends will have fun smashing each other with robotic box things also you will have fun actually completing the levels. This Co-op mode offers a very different experience than most games and is worth playing to see if you are smart enough to complete the test chambers.

1. Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead 2 is my pick for best Co-op game because it is the most fun out of any on this list. You and 3 other survivors need to get to the safe room but there are zombies that want to eat you everywhere. L4D2 is my favorite game to play with friends because you have to focus and watch each others back. You turn around for a second and a Jockey rode your buddy off a cliff or a smoker is hanging your buddy with its tongue. Your gonna need friends because the hardest difficulty is literally impossible. You as a team must make your way through the entire level and if you get split up and a hunter gets you, I am sorry but your gonna die. One thing I love to do is when I reach the safe room and then I get in and I close the door on my friends and they get eaten by zombies outside. As you can tell I am a team player all the way. Anyway you and your friends need to play this game all the way through right now, you won't want to stop playing its pure excitement.

Any Thoughts on This List Please Tell me in the Comments Thanks For Reading

I have problem. I'm looking for a good quality co-op game that is easy accessible - localized to czech and doesn't require a lot of PC power to play with my GF.
You know of anything?

Portal 2, L4D2, Orcs must die 2, Trine, Sanctum 2 are all really fun and they don't take that much computing power but I am not sure what can be accessible from Czech sorry.

Great list! Gotta love the Borderlands and Payday franchise. Portal 2 is a must lol, and it's great to see OMD2 getting some love too.
