Etheremon partners with Decentraland (MANA) - Virtual Reality Etheremon, on the blockchain!

A colourful screenshot. A medium post. A joy-filled discord (or two, or three). The creators of Etheremon, the blockchain driven virtual-monster fighting / training / trading / collect 'em all game have announced a collaboration with Decentraland.

Decentraland is VR on the blockchain, via a web browser. It is still in development; but Etheremon will be one of the first dApps running within the land of Decentraland.

The team promise that the underlying gameplay mechanics of Etheremon won't change too much; but there will be new opportunities to "discover new Etheremon monsters while exploring Genesis City [Decentraland's first district]"

Also promised with this partnership is a more immersive, engaging experience when battling, training, or even trading. It is still early days within Decentraland, with the Etheremon blog stating that:

Currently, the Decentraland team is working on the first version of their developer SDK, which will be the suite of tools targeted toward dApp and CCG developers who want to integrate their projects with Decentraland, and is the toolset that we will be piloting with our own integration.

It will be interesting to see how other (if other) blockchain games move into this space, in order to leverage VR. Pokemon Go already uses Augmented Reality to increase immersion. Most people I know, (including myself, when I played it) - play with that feature turned off.
