What is Gigantic?
Gigantic is a team based MOBA(Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) that is played in the third person perspective. Each player can choose to play one of currently added 19 characters to go up against the enemy team and the opposing giant. In this game, there are two giants, large mythical creatures, one being a bird type creature and the other, a dragon. These creatures resemble the final objective which needs to be taken down to win. Which ever team does best in the battlefield has a better chance to defeat the opposing team along with their giant. If your giant falls you lose the game. Gameplay wise this game is very similar to a game called Smite. The game has very recently been added to the Steam library of free to play games.
My Experience
So far I have not been able to actually open the game just because I don't have 6gb of ram which the last time I checked was the minimum requirement to even be able to run it. But judging from all the gameplay videos I have seen on YouTube I think is a game I would like try one day just because it is very appealing to someone who has been playing League of Legends for years. And personally, I love the art style of this game because it's just cartoony enough that it makes the gameplay enjoyable and keeps you coming back for more.
What others think of the game?
This game had been criticized for being available only on Windows 10, but later that people realized it will on the Steam market things settled down. A lot of big YouTubers have already reviewed the game and all its features.Here's one of my favorite reviews even though this review was made quite a while ago and before it launched on Steam.
Now that the game has been released on Steam it has been getting popularity very quickly along with getting mostly positive votes. YouTube has not yet been filled with Gigantic gameplay clips, but very soon that may become a reality. At least that's what I think. And with that let's continue with what I predict the future for the game will look like.
The future for the game
Now that Gigantic has found itself on Steam it is most likely constantly going to get updates and patches to balance out some gameplay elements as well as add something new like more characters for the players to enjoy. With the recent boom in popularity on Steam, it has risen to the first page of the free to play charts alongside Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2 as well as other games. I believe in a few weeks time it will get noticed by many YouTubers and will start gaining popularity rapidly. And it really deserves it because of the game while still being in closed beta was comparable to a finished title ready for the mainstream of gamers and people looking for entertainment.
Conclusion
I think this is a game of the future because no longer can we see very noticeable elements that are missing from the game while still being in closed beta, and no longer can we ask for another MOBA game. The only flaw I see in this game at the moment is the compatibility and performance because of the 6gb of ram needed to run it which does limit some users from enjoying the game. Over all, it's a solid 9/10 for me and I would recommend the game to absolutely anyone who enjoys MOBAS like League of Legends and Dota 2 or even Smite.
