DMC - Devil May Cry - Review (the best ever)

Hi guys, this week I want to talk about a very popular video game and I know that many of you have played at least one of its many versions. This is Devil May Cry specifically version number 5 DMC. We can know how the whole story of Dante began.

I remember that the first time I played Devil May Cry was the number 3 version for PlayStation 2, the euphoria I felt when playing was incredible. I had never experienced such a fun action game. The simple fact of being able to do combos and experience the use of various weapons was really innovative, that's what I thought back then. But always ask me where our protagonist Dante came from and, of course, the incredible Vergil.

Thanks to the game developer Ninja Theory and Capcom in charge of the distribution of the game, we can finally have the satisfaction of knowing the origins of Dante with the DMC videogame. This video game is released in January 2013, for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It should be noted that many players did not like the new image of Dante, if I'm honest, I did not give much importance to his new appearance. Its playability is superior to its other versions.

The story begins with the separation of two children, Dante and Vergil, when Mundus discovers that his brother Sparda (Demon) falls in love with Eva (Angel) and the result of this forbidden relationship are Dante and Vergil.

Mundus, feeling betrayed, brutally murders Eva and punishes his brother Sparda for eternity, but before all this happened, Sparda erases the memory of the children and separates them for the good of both.

Some time later, Mundus rules the world of humans living in a deception between the real world and the limbo.

Dante is already a teenager and lives in constant struggle against the demons, until one day, a young girl named Kat finds dante and invites him to be part of a group called "the Order", whose leader is his other brother, Vergil.

Dante is attacked by a demon and is in trouble, but with the help of Kat manages to defeat the demon. Dante agrees to meet with the leader of "The Order" and it is discovered that he is his brother, together they plan to free humans from Mundus control, since only they can do it according to the prophecy since they are hybrids, half angel and half demon "Nephilin" and Dante's fight begins.

Graphically DMC is really amazing, and the idea of transforming the real world in Limbo is innovative in my opinion, until now I had not seen it in another video game. During the game we can explore all levels in search of objects and overcome obstacles with the help of our weapons.

We will find totally creative levels where everything is upside down.

One of the bosses that I liked most about his design was Bob Barbas, bosses like these are hard to find in other video games.

Did you ever imagine fighting a boss in a nightclub? In DMC you can do it.

I have no doubt that the use of the articles in DMC that help us is important, which leads me to highlight something very important for more experienced players who seek the best grades at the end of each level. Each time we use a help article, we lose a certain number of points in the final grade; not in vain DMC has 6 types of difficulties: Human, Demon Hunter, Nephilin, Son of sparda, Dante must die, Heaven or hell and finally hell and hell. In this last degree of difficulty, the demons have a normal percentage of health, but Dante can die in one fell swoop.

During the game we can improve Dante's abilities, such as jumping, dodging and attracting enemies towards us. We also have two types of evasion and it will depend on the type of weapons you are using at that moment.

Demonic evasion

When we successfully achieve the demonic evasion Dante gets a damage bonus so his blows are more blunt in addition to increasing the final score in the combat style.

Damage bonus

Dante's arms are wrapped in red flames due to demonic evasion and may not be the best to evade, but without a doubt the damage bonus we get helps a lot to end those demons with high defenses.

Angelic evasion

Finally, angelic evasion (my favorite) allows you to travel further and makes you immune to enemy attacks. that in combination with angelic weapons you can make attacks very fast, you are practically untouchable.

Angelic impulse

The angelic impulse is a very useful skill that we will use very often to overcome the obstacles of limbo, but be careful because sometimes taking too much impulse means falling into the vacuum of limbo.

Devil May Cry in my opinion has a series of incredible weapons with special abilities that we must use on certain occasions to overcome the obstacles of limbo and kill any demon, no matter how many attack us at the same time, our weapons can exterminate any demon.

REBELLION
This is Dante's default weapon, it is a sword that provides a lot of balance during combat, as well as power and speed when attacking.
ARBITER
This is an ax with slow but very strong movements capable of breaking the guard of enemies with shields.
OSIRIS
It is an angelic scythe very useful to eliminate large groups of enemies, its damage increases every time it absorbs demonic energy.
ERYX
They are powerful gauntlets capable of causing much damage to a single enemy, their damage increases considerably if they are charged for a short period of time.
AQUILA
They are the fastest dual weapons of all, they have a great reach and great control over large enemy groups, if you keep them loaded you can immobilize the enemy with constant damage.
EBONY AND IVORY
They are high caliber pistols capable of maintaining an unstoppable rhythm against a single objective, through some combos you can reach several objectives.
REVENANT
It is a powerful shotgun capable of damaging several enemies at once, it is short range, but if it remains charged, its damage is considerably greater.
KABLOOEY
Shoot explosive darts that are inserted to the enemies and can be detonated manually, useful for the enemies with little defense in the later part.


COMBO
REBELLION
Rebellion is the best weapon of all, in my opinion, since it is very versatile due to its speed and damage in a matter of seconds, it is very useful against the bosses, where we only have a moment to be able to hurt them.
ARBITER
If what you want is to crush your enemies, Arbiter with his demonic attributes will be your favorite weapon, with a brutal damage but with slow movements, there is no defense that can resist the attacks of this weapon.
OSIRIS
There is no doubt that if you want to exterminate large groups of demons and make yourself stronger each time you eliminate them, this will be your weapon. Personally, I really like this weapon because of the control you have over your enemies.
ERYX
Do you want to kill the demons with your own hands? ERYX is your weapon, it narrowly outweighs the damage that ARBITER does with the difference that its movements are faster and more forceful.
AQUILA
This is my favorite weapon, as well as Rebellion. It is fast and powerful, and if you keep it charged, it does a constant damage that makes it very useful to immobilize certain demons and then fight with others, since there are certain demons that are immune to certain weapons.
EBONY AND IVORY
They are fast and rebellious like Dante, they are undoubtedly an icon of DMC, they are very useful to keep enemies at a distance and combine them with your next move.
REVENANT
This is my favorite firearm, it is capable of causing great damage to the demons and eliminating the weakest of a single shot.
KABLOOEY
It is the most powerful firearm of all, but to achieve the maximum possible damage you must shoot it several times on a single target.
DEMONIAC SUSPENSION
finally we have the final ability, Dante causes an explosion and sends all the demons to the air, acquiring speed and bonus for damage. The demonic suspension bar is purple and recharges when removing demons.

I have no doubt that DMC - Devil May Cry is one of the best action games I have played, but there are certain things I must say about this video game. The first of them is the reason why I wanted to play this game and is to know a little more about the history of this incredible videogame saga. I certainly did not like it, there were many doubts without answering, practically forcing me to play the previous versions or buy Vergil's DLC, the story was told vaguely.

The second would be that the game in general is very short, I could overcome it in less than 9 hours and also there are not many final bosses but if I highlight something we all know, vergil will always fight against Dante and it was really a very epic fight against he. I could see that the game focuses on their difficulties and achievements when completing the game for the first time and not in the story that was what I was really looking for.

I know I did not mention in detail what I thought was the soundtrack, but I was delighted with all of its mixes and SFX of the game, especially when Dante used the Osiris weapon. One of the songs that I liked most was the level of the album with "Noisia - Lilith Club Theme".

My rating for this video game would be: Gameplay 10/10, Graphics 10/10, Soundtrack 10/10, story 6/10.
